Payroll Specialist (International Payroll Operations)

As our Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for coordinating end-to-end payroll operations across multiple countries, ensuring payroll accuracy, compliance, and an excellent employee experience. You will work closely with external payroll providers, as well as the People and Finance teams, supporting employees across Spain, UK, Colombia, Argentina.
Key Responsibilities
1. International Payroll Operations
- Coordinate monthly payroll processes across Spain, the UK, Colombia, Argentina, and Portugal through external payroll providers.
- Collect, validate, and submit monthly payroll inputs, including:
- New hires
- Terminations
- Salary changes
- Variable compensation
- Bonuses
- Overtime
- Leave of absence
- Sick leave
- Vacation adjustments
- Other payroll-related events
- Review payroll calculations and reconcile payroll reports.
- Resolve payroll discrepancies with external providers.
- Prepare payroll approval files and payment instructions for the Finance team.
- Ensure payroll deadlines are met consistently across all countries.
- Support payroll compliance with local regulations and statutory requirements.
2. Employee Lifecycle Management
- Manage payroll-related onboarding and offboarding activities.
- Coordinate employee registrations and deregistrations with payroll providers and local authorities where applicable.
- Ensure employee records remain accurate and up to date.
- Support benefits enrollment and employee changes impacting payroll.
3. Employee Support
Act as the main point of contact for employees regarding:
- Payroll
- Payslips
- Taxes
- Social Security
- Leave management
- General payroll-related queries
What You'll Bring
Required
- 5+ years of payroll experience.
- Solid knowledge of Spanish payroll processes.
- Good understanding of UK payroll operations.
- Experience coordinating payroll across multiple countries.
- Strong understanding of the end-to-end payroll lifecycle.
- Experience supporting employee onboarding and offboarding.
- Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple payroll calendars simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Google Sheets and/or Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent communication skills in both English and Spanish.
Nice to Have
- Payroll knowledge in Argentina, Colombia, and/or Portugal.
- Experience working with external payroll providers.
- Previous experience in multinational or fast-growing technology companies.
- Experience using HRIS platforms, payroll systems, and Power BI.
- Knowledge of international employment practices.
