DESCRIPTION
Bonmont Resort is a new international destination currently in pre-opening phase in Tarragona, Spain. The project will combine a premium hotel, an international golf offering and complementary facilities, with a clear focus on international guests and the premium leisure market. The opening is planned for 2027.
We are looking for the founding Director of Finance to establish the financial function of Bonmont Resort during pre-opening and prepare the foundations for a disciplined, transparent and commercially effective operation. The role requires a finance leader who can build the function from zero, understands hospitality operations and is comfortable combining hands-on delivery with clear communication to ownership and the Executive Committee.
Establish the finance organisation, responsibilities, processes, policies and approval authorities for pre-opening and operations.
Prepare, manage and monitor the pre-opening budget, opening budget, operating budget and financial forecasts.
Build robust cash-flow planning and liquidity-management processes.
Design the reporting framework and management information required by ownership and the Executive Committee.
Implement effective internal controls across hotel, golf, procurement, payroll, inventory, cash management and other relevant areas.
Lead the selection, implementation and readiness of finance and operational systems.
Provide clear financial analysis, scenarios and business cases to support operational and commercial decisions.
Coordinate audits, tax matters, statutory reporting and relationships with external advisors.
Partner with the General Manager and area leaders to connect financial discipline with operational performance.
REQUIREMENTS
Demonstrated senior finance experience in an international hotel, resort or comparable hospitality environment.
Experience in pre-opening, hotel opening or a complex transformation project.
Strong understanding of hotel finance, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow and reporting to ownership.
Experience implementing financial systems, processes and internal controls from the ground up.
Ability to translate financial information into clear business decisions for non-finance stakeholders.
High level of integrity, attention to detail and sound judgement in a complex project environment.
Professional fluency in English AND Spanish or other relevant languages would be an advantage.
Experience in integrated hotel-and-golf resorts, golf destinations or multi-component premium leisure projects.
Experience managing finance across several business units, revenue streams or operating models.
Experience working with international ownership, hotel operators or complex project structures.
Experience implementing or upgrading finance and hotel operating systems.
You will build the financial foundations on which Bonmont will plan, control and measure performance. Your work will influence the quality of decision-making from pre-opening through the first operating cycle.
