The tax professional joining Duracell will be part of the new Global Tax Compliance team within the Global Tax Team, based at Duracell GBS in Barcelona, Spain.
In this role, you will be responsible for VAT/GST and Intrastat compliance, ideally across multiple jurisdictions. You will work closely with different functions across the multinational organization, as well as with external service providers, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
The role combines day-to-day tax compliance responsibilities with the opportunity to support VAT/GST-related queries and projects, including changes in supply chain, IT system redesign and optimization, changes in legislation, and emerging live reporting obligations.
The ideal candidate will bring proven expertise in VAT/GST and Intrastat compliance, together with excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across different functions and with external partners.
Prepare and submit VAT/GST, Intrastat returns and related filings.
Supervise live reporting obligation in entrusted jurisdictions.
Observe filing deadlines and payment due dates.
Perform reconciliations.
Provide internal and external audit support.
Follow up on changes in VAT/GST legislation and communicate those to relevant stakeholders.
Assist with VAT/GST queries from business.
Involvement in various projects impacting VAT/GST, such as concerning changes in supply chain, IT system re-design and optimization, changes in lesgislation, emerging live reporting obligations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in VAT/GST compliance; advisory experience is a plus.
- Previous experience within an international/multinational company, ideally in a Finance or Accounting department. Big 4 experience is an advantage.
- Excellent/fluent English – essential. Additional languages are a plus.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong hands-on experience.
- Working knowledge of SAP.
- Comfortable using AI tools in day-to-day work.
- Strong ownership, hands-on approach, and a team-oriented mindset.
