DESCRIPTION
Bonmont Resort is a new international destination currently in pre-opening phase in Tarragona, Spain. The project will combine a premium hotel, an international golf offering and complementary facilities, with a clear focus on international guests and the premium leisure market. The opening is planned for 2027.
We are looking for the founding Director of Human Resources to design the people function, organisational model and employee experience that will support the successful opening and long-term performance of Bonmont Resort. This role will be central to building the organisation before it opens: attracting the leadership and operational teams, establishing the employee lifecycle and creating the culture and engagement foundations of an international premium destination.
Design and implement the HR function, policies, processes, systems and employee lifecycle from the ground up.
Define the organisational structure, workforce plan, headcount model and recruitment roadmap.
Lead the recruitment and onboarding of the Executive Committee, department heads and wider pre-opening teams.
Plan and deliver the mass recruitment and mobilisation required ahead of opening.
Establish the culture, leadership expectations, service mindset and employee experience for the resort.
Design the learning, induction and readiness programmes required before opening.
Manage employment matters, labour relations and compliance in partnership with specialist employment counsel and relevant stakeholders.
Develop approaches to attract, retain, engage and develop local and international talent.
Introduce meaningful people metrics, including staffing progress, turnover, absenteeism, engagement and labour cost.
Partner with ownership, the General Manager and area leaders on organisational and people decisions.
REQUIREMENTS
Demonstrated senior HR leadership experience in an international hotel, resort or comparable hospitality environment.
Experience in hotel opening, pre-opening or a large-scale hospitality project.
Proven ability to attract and mobilise high-volume workforces ahead of opening.
Strong experience in organisational design, culture, engagement and leadership development.
Sound knowledge of employment matters and the ability to work effectively with specialist employment counsel.
Credibility with ownership, senior leaders, managers, employees and employee representatives where applicable.
Professional fluency in English and Spanish; other relevant languages would be an advantage.
Experience in integrated hotel-and-golf resorts, golf destinations or premium leisure projects.
Experience managing seasonal operations, international talent or geographically diverse teams.
Experience creating a leadership culture and employee experience from the beginning of a new operation.
Experience using people data to improve engagement, retention, productivity and labour cost.
You will help define how people experience Bonmont from the very beginning. This is a founding HR role with the opportunity to influence the organisation, culture, leadership standards and talent strategy of a new international resort.
