Housekeeper 30 Hours per Week in La Zagaleta
We are looking for a reliable, trustworthy, and experienced Housekeeper to work in a private family home located in La Zagaleta, Benahavís.This is a live-out position of 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with regular working hours from 11:00 to 17:00.
We are looking for someone stable and committed who is interested in building a long-term working relationship with the family.
About the Position
The family consists of five members and two dogs. During their stays at the property, the successful candidate will work closely with the family and help ensure that the household runs smoothly and remains well organised.When the family is away, the Housekeeper will be expected to work more independently, ensuring that the property remains clean, tidy, well organised, and in excellent condition.
The workload will naturally vary depending on whether the family is in residence. Some flexibility and adaptability are therefore highly valued, as certain periods may be busier than others, while there will also be considerably quieter periods when the family is away.
This is a live-out position, so applicants must have their own accommodation and reliable transportation to travel to and from La Zagaleta on a daily basis.
Responsibilities
- General housekeeping and daily cleaning of the property.
- Laundry, clothing care, and ironing.
- Dishwashing and general kitchen upkeep.
- Keeping all areas of the home clean, tidy, and well organised.
- Watering and basic care of indoor and outdoor plants.
- Preparing a simple meal from time to time (an advantage, but not a requirement).
- Keeping an eye on the general condition of the property while the family is away.
- Reporting any maintenance issues or problems that require attention, such as water leaks, faults, or repairs.
- Providing access to contractors, suppliers, or maintenance workers when required.
- Helping prepare the property before the arrival of the family or their guests.
- Adapting daily priorities during busier periods when the family is staying at the property.
Requirements
- Previous demonstrable experience in housekeeping and maintaining private homes.
- Good spoken and conversational English is essential, as you will need to communicate directly with the family.
- The recruitment and interview process will be conducted entirely in English, so candidates must be comfortable communicating in English throughout the selection process.
- Good spoken Spanish.
- Verifiable professional references from previous employers.
- Responsible, discreet, organised, proactive, and trustworthy.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative when necessary.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining a high-standard private home.
- Flexibility and adaptability during periods when the family is staying at the property.
- Own accommodation, as this is a live-out position.
- Own vehicle to travel to the property.
- Comfortable working in a household with dogs.
- Previous experience working for private families or in high-end private residences would be highly valued.
