Job Description:
ROLE PURPOSE
Schneider Electric is competing in an AI infrastructure market where technical credibility at the design-win stage is decisive. Our participation in critical early-stage conversations — where GPU cluster architecture, power budgets, cooling strategy and rack design are being defined — is currently limited, and consequently we are losing influence over the bill of materials.
The
Technical Sales Specialist – AI Infrastructure will serve as the primary technical resource for the AI Infrastructure team, providing deep expertise in modern AI server platforms (including NVIDIA B300/GB300 and successor architectures), high-density power and cooling, networking, and modular/prefab data centre deployments. The Technical Sales Specialist will cover the breadth of the team's neocloud, alliance and System Integrator (SI) customer base. These are primarily customer-facing, pre-sales roles — not internal consultants.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical Pre-Sales & Design Wins
- Lead technical conversations with neocloud customers, alliance partners (Dell, Supermicro, HPE, Lenovo, Asus, Gigabyte) and regional SIs during the AI infrastructure design and procurement phase.
- Develop and present technically credible SE solutions for GPU rack deployments including power distribution (PDUs, busway, powershelves), high-density cooling (direct to chip liquid cooling, rear-door heat exchangers, etc), and physical infrastructure.
- Produce Bills of Materials, solution designs, rack layouts and power/thermal calculations for customer and partner review.
- Support the Account Managers in converting technical conversations into commercial pipeline and closed orders.
AI Platform Expertise
- Maintain current, in-depth knowledge of AI server platforms — NVIDIA B300, GB300, VR, HGX configurations — and their associated infrastructure requirements (power density, cooling, networking, cabling, etc).
- Understand networking architectures for AI clusters: InfiniBand, RoCE, spine-leaf topologies and the physical infrastructure implications for racks and cabling.
- Stay current with the evolving prefab and modular data centre landscape as the preferred deployment model for AI at scale; contribute to SE's prefab AI offer development.
Alliance & Ecosystem Engagement
- Act as SE's technical point of contact within alliance partner pre-sales and solutions teams (Dell, Supermicro, HPE etc.), supporting joint design reviews and RFP responses.
- Provide technical enablement to alliance partner sales teams on SE's AI-ready infrastructure portfolio.
- Support Regional SI engagement at the technical level — reviewing project designs, proposing SE solutions, and supporting tender responses.
Internal Contribution
- Feed market and customer insights into SE's offer management and product roadmap teams to help prioritise the right AI-ready solutions.
- Create and maintain reusable technical assets: reference architectures, configuration guides, rack design templates, competitive battle cards.
- Mentor and upskill commercial team members on AI infrastructure concepts and SE's evolving AI portfolio.
(External) English Qualifications:
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Essential Experience
- 5–8 years in a technical pre-sales, solution architecture or systems engineering role within the data centre or AI/HPC infrastructure space.
- Demonstrable hands-on knowledge of AI server platforms — NVIDIA HGX, DGX, B100/B200/B300/GB300 or equivalent — and their power, cooling and physical infrastructure requirements.
- Experience designing or specifying high-density data centre infrastructure: power distribution, PDUs, liquid cooling, or modular/prefab deployments.
- Ability to produce accurate BoMs, rack designs and power/thermal calculations independently.
- Experience engaging directly with customers and/or partners in a presale’s capacity
Desirable
- Experience working with or within a hyperscale, neocloud or colocation operator, or system integrator environment.
- Familiarity with AI networking: InfiniBand (HDR/NDR), RoCE, spine-leaf and fat-tree topologies.
- Exposure to prefab or modular data centre design and deployment.
- Relevant certifications (NVIDIA, VMware VCP-DCV, BICSI RCDD, or data centre design credentials).
