Main function and scope:
We are looking for a Hardware Engineer with a good electronic background to design, validate, and qualify advanced electronic systems for aerospace and defense applications. The role covers the electronic board design, debugging, validation and qualification activities, including radiation testing campaigns. The successful candidate will be expected to understand hardware behaviour at component, board, and subsystem level, and investigate failures to improve design solutions.
Core functions:
Design, develop, and maintain electronic boards and hardware subsystems for avionics equipment, and electronic systems.
Perform component selection, schematic design, analysis and support PCB layout activities.
Design hardware incorporating DC/DC converters, LDO regulators, analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuitry, including FPGA-, microcontroller-, ADC/DAC-, and communication interface-based systems.
Develop, integrate, and maintain automated test systems using laboratory instrumentation such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, signal generators, and data acquisition systems.
Coordinate and execute radiation test campaigns (TID, SEE, SEL, SEU, SET, displacement damage) in collaboration with specialized external facilities.
Execute environmental qualification testing, including thermal, vibration, EMC/EMI, and reliability testing.
Prepare technical documentation, test reports, verification evidence, qualification reports, and customer deliverables.
Collaborate closely with systems, hardware, firmware, software, quality, manufacturing, and project management teams.
Required experience and candidate profile:
Degree in Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline
More than 3 years of experience in the responsibilities described above
EU work authorization required
Technical Requirements:
Training / specific knowledge required in:
Knowledge of communication interfaces such as SPI, I²C, UART, CAN, Ethernet, or other digital communication protocols.
Experience with test automation using tools or languages such as Python, LabVIEW, MATLAB, C/C++, or similar.
Ability to understand datasheets, interface control documents, requirements specifications, and technical standards.
Nice-to-have training / specific knowledge:
Experience performing radiation testing of electronic components, including TID, SEE, SEL, SEU, or displacement damage testing.
Familiarity with ECSS, NASA, ESA, MIL-STD, or DO-254/DO-160 standards.
The position is located at our headquarters in Madrid, at Calle Serrano Galvache, 56.
