The Application Engineer is responsible for ensuring adequate support to Sales Managers during the bidding process, providing the necessary technical knowledge about the product and its integration into the relevant application, in order to maximize the chances of a customer's order.
The Project Manager is responsible for leading the project execution phase, from the receipt of the customer's order to the successful commissioning of the product or system.
The job position described here must fulfill both roles: Application Engineer and Project Manager, in the application(s) to which it is dedicated, under the coordination of the Application Engineering Supervisor.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Review of RFQ, at the request of the Sales Manager, and preparation of the technical proposal according to the client's requirements, ensuring the optimal selection of the product or system for the specific application.

Interact with the Application Engineers of the relevant Business Unit at headquarters to get the necessary adaptions and customizations to serial products to better adapt them to the customer’s needs.

Technical support to Sales Managers throughout the offer process, including meetings with customers when necessary.

Collaboration in marketing actions such as attendance to exhibitions, events and technical presentations to customers.

Lead projects from order receipt to completion of commissioning, following project management processes (PMP) with the aim of minimizing costs and ensuring quality and customer satisfaction.

Ensure the right interface with partners and subsuppliers during the execution of the project.

Follow-up the completion of payment/invoicing/revenue recognition milestones and coordinate with Finance to trigger the necessary actions.

Coordinate and lead Service team during the commissioning phase.

Perform detailed post-calculations of the projects once the commissioning has been completed.

REQUIREMENTS
Business expertise:

Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar position

Minimum 3 years of experience in project management

Project leadership skills

Knowledge and experience to apply business operations practices and coordinate with others closely related areas to improve efficiency
Functional knowledge:

Industrial / Energy / Electric Engineering, Naval Architecture or similar

High knowledge of the sector, its products and applications

Project Management sound knowledge (preferable PMP)

In-house mtu product training: MTU internal tools, IPAS, Business Portal, CEC, LCC, Windchill, S4HC, PPM4PSB
Technical knowledge:

In-depth knowledge of diesel and gas engines and systems, for marine, power generation, and industrial applications

Knowledge of electricity markets and requirements including specially energy storage technologies, specifically BESS
-
Training in negotiation and sales techniques.

MS Office, Intermediate-Advanced Level, AutoCad, MS Project
