Field Services Engineer
General Job Function
Responsible for managing all project management processes for low complexity projects, leading small teams (typically fewer than 10 members), which may include project controls personnel.
As experience and capabilities grow, the role may involve:
- Managing multiple low complexity projects simultaneously, or
- Leading medium-sized work packages.
The position may also serve as:
- Technical Inputs Lead for low-complexity proposal projects, and/or
- Supervisor or individual contributor on larger, more complex projects.
Projects may span disciplines such as Engineering, Field Services, Software, Innovation/Product Development, and Process Improvement.
All project management activities are performed in accordance with Westinghouse policies, procedures, systems, and requirements.
The role requires developing subject matter expertise in one or more Westinghouse Instrumentation & Control (I&C) systems or refuel machine systems.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Project Planning
- Complete all aspects of the planning process, including:
- Authoring project plans
- Developing scope, schedule, and cost baselines
- Assist in planning and document generation for larger and more complex projects
2. Project Execution, Monitoring, and Control
- Acquire and manage project resources following departmental protocols
- Manage all aspects of the project, including:
- Scope, schedule, cost, risk
- Procurement, quality, resources
- Communications and stakeholder management
- Interpret and communicate project and contract requirements, including changes, using an integrated change management process
- Coordinate internal and external communications to ensure all stakeholders remain informed
- Maintain project databases, systems, and documentation to ensure efficient project execution
- Participate in larger projects as a supervisor or individual contributor
3. Project Closing
- Properly close projects, including:
- Financial, scheduling, documentation, and resource system closeout
- Perform final project quality assessments
- Identify and communicate:
- Lessons learned
- Improvement opportunities
- Risk avoidance strategies for future projects
4. Training and Development
- Develop subject matter expertise in one or more Instrumentation and Control systems
- Participate in system and field leadership training
- Assist with preparation and delivery of project-specific training for field crews
5. Leadership
- Perform assigned job tasks independently
- Supervise assigned projects and small teams with defined goals
- Lead projects in alignment with a strong nuclear safety culture

Education & Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in:

- Construction Management
- Or a related technical discipline
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering / Engineering Technology
Experience Requirements
Minimum:
- 2 years of project management experience
OR
- 1 year of project management experience + 1 year in a technical role within nuclear or construction industries
Preferred:
- 2–4 years of project management experience in engineering, manufacturing, nuclear, or construction environments
Certifications
- PMP or WEC Project Management Certification preferred but not required
