With 3 to 5 years of experience, the selected candidate will join the AH Information Management Directorate, to manage, drive and monitor the code delivery of Digital projects, related to Airbus Helicopters Spares, MRO & Training domain.
Our internal customers are composed of various teams that interact directly or indirectly with our Airbus customers and use various solutions that help building up customer relationships.
In a context of high service usage, you will be accountable for the security, quality and stability of our application’s code. You will play a pivotal role between our project or application managers, our managed service providers (MSPs), and our users to ensure service excellence.
Main web applications developed and supported by our team:
Customer facing applications to manage ordering of Spares or repair of parts
Applications to support the Training of customer’s pilots or technicians
Applications open to our maintenance center to support blades repair
As a Web Development Techlead, you will be responsible for defining technical strategies, guiding the development team, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality web solutions for Airbus Helicopters operations. You will work closely with business (Product Owners, Business Analysts) and digital colleagues to ensure technical excellence and alignment with industry-specific requirements. This includes establishing best practices, mentoring team members, and overseeing the technical aspects of projects from conception to production deployment. Your goal is to build robust, scalable, and secure web applications that provide the highest possible value to the organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Business collaboration: Collaborate with product owners and business stakeholders to translate functional requirements into technical specifications and to estimate the cost of their requirements
Leadership & Mentorship: Pull the development team upward by providing technical leadership and mentorship to the web development team (mainly today outsourced), fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
Architecture: Lead the design of modern web architectures ensuring scalability, performance, and security.
Quality : Act as the guarantor of code quality, implement best practices for software development life cycle (SDLC), ensure adherence to coding standards. Oversee code review and manage the tech debt ensuring maintainability and long-term viability of our web solutions.
Proactiveness & Tech Watch: Proactively identify pain points and spontaneously propose improvements regarding architecture, tools, security, or workflows. Stay updated with emerging web technologies and industry standards, and integrate them where appropriate.
Operations & Crisis Management: Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide solutions to ensure the smooth operation of web applications. Maintain composure and strict methodology when managing complex production incidents and hotfixes.
Technical Discovery & Evaluation: Lead technical exploration phases before development starts. Evaluate and recommend new technologies, frameworks, and tools to enhance web development capabilities. Build PoCs (Proof of Concepts) to evaluate feasibility, mitigate technical risks, and guide business decisions
Vision & Roadmap: Define and evolve the technical roadmap for web development, aligning it with business objectives and industry trends.
Release Process: Drive and secure the end-to-end release process, acting as the technical gatekeeper to guarantee safe, reliable, and successful deployments to production.
Required Technical Expertise
Modern Tech Stack:
Front-end: Mastery of core web technologies (HTML5, CSS3, Javascript and Typescript) . Strong expertise in Angular (React is a plus)
Back-end: Strong expertise in Java and Spring / Spring Boot . Bonus: Python, Node.js (NestJS).
Architecture Web & System Design: Ability to design robust, scalable, and maintainable systems. Deep understanding of API concepts, service-oriented/microservices architectures, performance, and security issues (OWASP, authentication standards)..
Code Quality & Standards: Guarantor of best practices, code splitting, and optimization. (Bonus: Automated testing, Clean Architecture, TDD, Domain-Driven Design (DDD), and a Software Craftsmanship mindset) .
Databases: Solid understanding of relational databases (SQL) and database design. (Bonus: NoSQL / MongoDB) .
Advanced Git Workflow: Definition of a strict versioning strategy and advanced mastery of Git commands.
DevOps & Cloud Culture: Without needing to be an absolute DevOps expert , you must understand CI/CD principles and containerization ( Docker, Kubernetes ). (Bonus: Red Hat OpenShift) .
Bonus Technical Expertise
Enterprise E-Commerce & SAP Ecosystem (Significant Advantage): Proven experience with large-scale enterprise integrations, with a critical focus on SAP Hybris / SAP Commerce Cloud , alongside Mirakl Marketplace and core SAP environments ( SAP S/4HANA, SAP ECC6, ABAP ).
Integration, Middleware & Event-Driven Architecture (Advantage): Familiarity with enterprise integration patterns and middleware platforms, with specific experience in Mulesoft (API Gateway & ESB) , TIBCO ESB , or event-driven streaming solutions like Solace .
Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) skills
Agile Methodology: Deep understanding of Agile frameworks ( Scrum ), active participation, and natural integration into Agile ceremonies. (Bonus: Knowledge of SAFe framework at scale) .
Workflow Management: Mastery of tracking tools (Jira). Strong analytical capacity to break down complex technical tasks into clear, executable tickets.
Crisis & Hotfix Management: Reactivity, rigor, and a cool head to manage and resolve production incidents efficiently.
Quality Assurance: Proficiency in application testing (unit, functional, and integration testing) to ensure robust delivery.
Continuous Improvement: Ability to take a step back and draw lessons ( post-mortems ) after a production issue or a difficult sprint, aiming to implement lasting corrective processes.
Technical Debt Management: Experience in identifying, prioritizing, and managing technical debt continuously within the development lifecycle.
Risk & Dependency Management: Strong understanding of technical dependencies and risk management to proactively avoid delivery bottlenecks.
Effort Estimation: Ability to accurately estimate technical effort and timelines to ensure realistic sprint goals and delivery planning.

Communication: Excellent written and oral communication skills to interact with both technical teams and business stakeholders.
Simplification: Excellent communication skills. The ability to translate and explain complex technical constraints in simple words to non-technical stakeholders.
