Job Description
The Associate Director – Data Centre, Business Operations is a leadership role charged with driving the growth, performance, and reputation of our Data Centre business across Spain. This is a pivotal, strategic appointment - offering the opportunity to build on a strong existing platform, elevate our operations to the next stage of maturity and scale, and ensure excellence in project delivery across the region.
Key Responsibilities

Financial Management:
-
Lead monthly financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and job profitability.

Oversee monthly invoicing for both client (outgoing) and contractor/sub-consultant (incoming) payments.

Manage annual budgets, fee projections, and associated tracking processes.

Provide expert support for the effective use of D365, ensuring accurate financial processing and forecasting.
- Commission Oversight:
-
Conduct monthly commission reviews to evaluate performance, enhance margin, and improve commission returns.
- Capacity and Capability Build-Up:
-
Support to the Sector Lead DC in identify and forecast strategic hiring needs to deliver the sector growth plan, including location and capability requirements.

Oversee quality assurance, ensuring robust onboarding, training, and mentoring for teams to ensure high standards of performance and quality within projects.

Continuously refine training methodologies to reflect industry best practice and emerging technologies.

Collaborate across functions to identify skill gaps and develop targeted capability building solutions.
- Subject Matter Expertise:

Provide execution assurance for major projects, ensuring delivery excellence.

Active participation in the company’s DC Improvement and Innovation Plan (PMeI), to ensure the continued pursuit of the objectives of integrating different ways of working across the DC business units,

Work with the DC Centres of excellence in Spain (CEIs) and with the Technical Department, in order to refine, and share best practices, templates, and processes to strengthen consistency and performance across teams.
Qualifications
-
Relevant degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.

Minimum 7 years of experience in an operational leadership role within professional services, ideally experiences in the Data Centre sector.

Experience leading and delivering large‑scale construction projects and programmes.

Proactive, detail driven, and hands on, with a collaborative approach to problem solving.

Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage clients and senior management; fluent in Spanish and English.
