Job Description:
- ¿Do you dare to lead the digital transformation to create a more sustainable world?
At Schneider Electric, we are the leading digital partner in sustainability and efficiency for businesses, communities, and individuals. Our goal is for all people to be able to make the most of our energy and resources through the integration of processes, software, Big Data, and energy technologies that enable integrated management of buildings, industries, and cities. We are present in over 110 countries with a diverse and disruptive team of over 135,000 people. If you are seeking an opportunity to propel your career and challenge your creativity, we want to meet you!
We are looking for a Senior UX/UI Designer to design advanced digital tools supporting the design, configuration, and validation of electrical systems. This role is ideal for someone with a hybrid background in UX, engineering, or industrial design, who thrives in environments where technical complexity, expert workflows, and system constraints shape the experience.
You will work on products used by electrical engineers, system designers, and integrators, translating complex system behaviors into intuitive, efficient, and scalable user interfaces. Success in this role requires the ability to move fluidly between engineering logic, user intent, and interface design, often in contexts where workflows are not yet clearly defined.
-
Design end‑to‑end user experiences for complex tools supporting electrical system design, configuration, and validation.
-
Translate engineering concepts (schemas, constraints, rules, dependencies) into clear, usable interface patterns.
-
Create workflows that support expert users while reducing cognitive load and error risk.
-
Analyse and structure existing engineering workflows, including configuration logic, system dependencies, and validation processes.
-
Design for scenarios involving multi-step configuration, rule-based systems, and system-level interactions.
-
Collaborate with researchers to refine task flows and interaction models based on real user behavior.
-
Create low‑ to high‑fidelity prototypes to explore and validate concepts.
-
Produce well-structured information architecture and purpose-driven screen designs for data-rich and functionally dense applications.
-
Use design system and inform central team about existing and upcoming components needs.
-
Ensure consistency and scalability across platform ecosystem, including integration with other products of the same family.
-
Use prototypes to communicate complex interaction models and system behaviors effectively.
-
Support usability testing and iterate designs based on user feedback and research insights.
-
Work closely with product managers, user researchers, and engineering teams to define problems and solutions.
-
Elaborate and communicate key success criteria when it comes to design methodology.
-
Collaborate deeply with software and system engineers to align UX with technical architecture and constraints.
-
Participate in design reviews, technical discussions, and system design conversations.
-
Help team move from prescriptive, system-centric requirements to problem framing and user-centric requirements.
-
Balance short-term delivery needs with long-term product and experience vision.
(External) English Qualifications:
-
Minimum 7 years of experience in UX/UI design, with a strong portfolio demonstrating complex systems or enterprise tools.
-
Background in engineering, industrial design, HCI, or a related technical field.
-
Proven ability to design for complex, expert-driven workflows (e.g., configuration tools, CAD-like environments, industrial software, audio-visual).
-
Strong information architecture skills.
-
Ability to understand and engage with technical concepts such as system logic, constraints, and dependencies.
-
Proficiency in modern design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma or equivalent).
Preferred Qualifications
-
Experience in electrical engineering domains (e.g., power systems, automation, wiring/configuration tools).
-
Experience designing rule-based systems, parametric interfaces, or modeling tools.
Strong systems thinking and ability to design at multiple levels (ecosystem workflow- component).
-
Exposure to front-end implementation constraints or design‑to‑code workflows.
What Success Looks Like
-
You transform complex engineering logic into intuitive, efficient user experiences.
-
Engineers can complete critical tasks faster, with fewer errors and less cognitive load.
-
Your designs scale across products and contribute to a coherent design system.
-
You bring clarity and structure to ambiguous, technically challenging problem spaces.
-
You are a trusted partner to both design and engineering teams, helping improve flow, reduce coordination friction, and enable faster learning and delivery.
