About the Role
As Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for Data Centre construction projects. This role involves analyzing project documentation, evaluating labor, materials, equipment, subcontractor costs, and identifying commercial risks to support bidding, budgeting, and project delivery activities.
Key Responsibilities
Reading and examining enquiry documentation to determine the requirements for the project.
Determining quantities from drawings or bills of quantities if provided.
Calculating material and labour costs from price lists.
Obtaining prices from sub-contractors for non-standard elements as necessary.
In conjunction with the Sales Director, Quantity Surveyor or Senior Project Manager, determining the contribution to be added to the costs to arrive at the overall selling figure.
Producing an estimate which includes tender report, specification, and any other relevant information to provide a clear and concise offer to carry out the works.
Providing re-quotes.
Providing supporting information where required.
Attending post-tender meetings where necessary.
Upon receipt of an order, completing the documentation, processing the file into cash flow and credit control.
Supporting the internal sales team and quantity surveyor across Iberia with commercial and technical support.
You may be expected to do any work that is required, which is commensurate with your capabilities and experience, and you may be required to undertake other tasks, which are reasonably asked of you. Duties will change over time, and the job holder will be expected to cooperate where such changes are reasonable.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills
Education: Degree in Engineering, Architectural, Construction/Project Management or related discipline, providing a strong foundation in technical and managerial aspects.
Experience:
Previous experience in estimating role in Construction, MEP/Critical Facility or Data Centre sectors. Strong knowledge of commercial and contractual management. Familiarity with construction processes building materials and architectural drawings.
Skills:
Fluent in Spanish and English both written and verbal, enabling effective interaction with stakeholders at all levels and the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
Numerical and IT skills, including proficiency in SAP, Salesforce, AutoCAD, Revit, MS Office, MS Project. High competency in SAP and Salesforce is essential.
Ability to work on own and as part of a team.
Result-oriented individual who is comfortable dealing with cross-functional teams.
Excellent time management skills with the ability to multitask, organise and prioritise workloads, ensuring strict deadlines are met.
A structured and self-motivated individual.
Willingness and ability to travel within the Iberia region.
