The Business Unit Adsorbents & Additives is seeking a driven and technically credible Product Manager Adsorbents to be based primarily at our site in Tarragona, Spain. In this role, you will take ownership of the specific product portfolio, acting as the key connector between operations, sales, R&D, marketing, and customers to optimize the product lifecycle and maximize business group profitability. This position reports directly to the Product and Business Development Manager.
Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end product portfolio and lifecycle
- Define and maintain pricing guidelines, ensuring compliance across sales channels
- Approve formulations, product and raw material specifications, and packaging standards
- Drive product lifecycle decisions, including portfolio pruning and cost optimization initiatives
- Ensure full regulatory compliance, coordinating with corporate and regulatory teams on product documentation
- Lead resolution of customer complaints, balancing customer satisfaction with operational feasibility
- Initiate and manage innovation and improvement projects in close collaboration with R&D and technical teams
- Evaluate and implement strategies to access new market segments (e.g., Pharmaceutical industry)
- Partner with Marketing to develop technical content, training materials, and trade show contributions
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Quality Management, and Sales Managers to align on product strategy and execution
- The role also involves travel to engage with customers and stakeholders as needed.
Requirements
- Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a closely related field
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in product management, technical marketing, or a related role in the specialty chemicals industry, experience in sales or positions with exposure with customers is an advantage
- Strong technical understanding of adsorbents, additives, or related chemical products (preferred)
- Fluent in English; German language skills are an advantage
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex, cross-functional stakeholder relationships with confidence and clarity
- Results-oriented mindset with a structured approach to prioritization and problem-solving
- Customer-centric perspective with a solid understanding of market dynamics and unmet customer needs
- Resilient and adaptable under pressure, with a proactive attitude toward continuous learning
- Collaborative team player who thrives in a global matrix organization
- High level of accountability, integrity, and ownership in day-to-day decision-making
