Role Purpose
The Head of Financial Lines, CEMENA is a senior leadership position responsible for shaping and executing the Financial Lines underwriting strategy across the Continental Europe, Middle East and North Africa. The role holder will lead a team of regional Financial Lines team, own the regional P&L, and drive sustainable, profitable growth across the full spectrum of Financial Lines products — including Directors & Officers (D&O), Professional Indemnity (PI), Management Liability, Crime, and related Specialty Lines. This is a high-impact role that combines technical underwriting depth with strategic leadership and strong market-facing presence.
This role directly reports to Chief Underwriting Officer CEMENA.
Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Leadership
- Define and execute the Financial Lines strategy across CEMENA, aligned with Chubb's global vision.
- Identify growth opportunities across CEMENA markets with a focus on sustainable, profitable expansion.
Act as a thought leader and spokesperson for Financial Lines across the region.

2. Financial Performance & P&L Ownership
- Deliver production targets including Net Written Premium (NWP) and underwriting profit for the region.
- Achieve plan top line and bottom line targets every year.
- Monitor and manage portfolio financial performance across all CEMENA markets, taking corrective action where required.
Provide regular performance reporting and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.

3. Underwriting Excellence & Best Practice
- Maintain and enhance underwriting quality, consistency, and knowledge across the region.
- Support the rollout and regular update of underwriting guidelines across all markets.
- Drive overall satisfactory audit results consistently across CEMENA.
Set and uphold underwriting authority levels and risk appetite in line with Chubb's global framework.

4. New Product Development
- Lead creation and adaptation of Financial Lines products to capture emerging business opportunities and evolving client demand.
- Review and upgrade the key primary product suites across the region as needed.
Work closely with actuarial, legal, and compliance teams to bring new products to market efficiently.

5. Team Leadership & Talent Development
- Build, lead, and inspire a high-performing Financial Lines team across CEMENA.
- Build a cohesive message and training framework across the team.
- Support underwriting training, especially when rolling out new products and policy forms.
Develop the talent pool for succession, identifying and nurturing future leaders within the function.

6. Producer & Distribution Management
- Review and strengthen performance with key producers in the region on a regular basis.
- Maintain strong relationships with key producers so they understand Chubb's appetite and capabilities.
Partner with distribution and broker management teams to develop tailored strategies for priority markets.

7. Marketing & Brand Positioning
- Strengthen Chubb's leading position in Financial Lines across CEMENA through targeted marketing initiatives.
- Support and drive marketing activities in emerging markets with high growth potential.
Represent Chubb at key industry conferences, seminars, and client events.

8. Client & Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with key clients, brokers, and strategic partners.
- Champion a client-centric approach within the team at all times.
Collaborate with Claims, Legal, and Risk Engineering to ensure a seamless client experience.

9. Regulatory & Compliance Oversight
- Ensure all Financial Lines operations across CEMENA comply with local regulatory and governance requirements.
- Engage proactively with regulators and legal counsel as required.
Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on products and business operations.

10. Cross-functional Collaboration
- Align regional strategies with Chubb's global Financial Lines leadership and international priorities.
- Collaborate with Actuarial, Finance, Claims, Legal, and Compliance teams for an integrated approach.
- Contribute to global product development and portfolio management as a regional subject matter expert
Requirements and skills:
- 10+ years of Financial Lines underwriting experience with a track record of leadership and profitable portfolio management.
- Deep technical expertise in D&O, PI, Crime, and Management Liability.
- Experience managing a multi-country or regional portfolio, preferably across CEMENA or similar markets.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience owning and delivering P&L targets.
- Established relationships with key brokers, producers, and clients across the region.
- Proven ability to develop and inspire high-performing teams across diverse geographies.
- Fluency in English required (minimum C1 level).
Additional European languages are an advantage.
