The Clinical and Molecular Phenotyping (CMP) Group at IRBLleida is a young and growing translational research team based in Lleida, Spain, working in close collaboration with the Hospital Universitari Arnau de Vilanova. We are internationally recognised for our work on circulating non-coding RNA biomarkers — microRNAs, lncRNAs and tRNA-derived fragments — across infectious and chronic diseases. A distinctive focus of the group is the study of pathogen-derived small RNAs as innovative markers of infection-related complications and host–pathogen interactions. Our work follows an integrated translational pipeline — from clinical need and cohort-based discovery through assay development, validation and implementation readiness — supported by transcriptomic, proteomic and machine learning platforms.
