We are currently looking for a City Residence Manager to lead our operations in Málaga, overseeing two student residences with approximately 460 rooms.
Your Mission
As City Residence Manager, you will be responsible for the overall operational, commercial and financial performance of Xior's residences in Málaga. You will ensure the smooth day-to-day management of both assets, deliver an outstanding resident experience, lead a multidisciplinary local team and drive occupancy, revenue and profitability targets.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will act as the key representative of Xior in the city, ensuring alignment with company standards while balancing operational excellence, financial performance and resident satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Team Leadership
- Lead the day-to-day operations of two residences, ensuring operational excellence and a consistently high-quality resident experience.
- Manage, coach and develop a local team of 6-7 employees, promoting accountability, engagement and performance.
- Oversee resident-facing operations, including check-ins, check-outs, complaint resolution and community initiatives.
Commercial Development & Partnerships
- Support and implement commercial strategies to maximize occupancy and revenue across both residences.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with universities, student organizations and local partners.
- Identify business development opportunities and represent Xior within the local student and academic community.
- Collaborate with the Commercial Business Partner and Marketing teas to drive leasing campaigns and group bookings.
Administrative & Financial Management
- Own the P&L performance of both residences, ensuring achievement of occupancy, revenue and profitability targets.
- Monitor budgets, costs and key operational KPIs, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and business results.
- Drive accurate reporting, forecasting and financial administration in line with company standards.
Technical & Facility Management
- Oversee maintenance operations across both residences, ensuring buildings remain safe, compliant and well-maintained.
- Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities with internal teams and external suppliers.
- Monitor service quality, supplier performance and compliance with health and safety standards.
What We're Looking For
Experience & Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Tourism, Facilities Management or a related field. Equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in hospitality, tourism, property management, student accommodation or service-oriented industries.
- Proven experience managing multi-site operations, large teams, or complex service environments.
- Experience with budget ownership, P&L management and operational reporting.
- Demonstrated experience leading teams and driving operational performance
Languages
- Native or equivalent level of Spanish.
- Fluent English.
- Additional languages are a plus.
