What You'll Do
As a Manager – BCG Vantage on our Client Focus path within BCG's Operations Practice Area, you will work in a growing global team, embedding directly with case teams to deliver client impact through your Maintenance expertise and BCG Vantage's institutionalized assets – including proprietary tools, data, frameworks, and IP. Given the client-facing nature of this role, you will be expected to travel to client locations during staffing assignments as needed, partnering with case teams to understand client needs and to design and deliver tailored solutions.
Beyond case work, you will support commercialization efforts for the Maintenance topic – partnering with business leaders to shape proposals, client workshops, and marketing materials. You will also help build out the Maintenance topic's intellectual property, knowledge assets, and digital tools, and mentor and guide junior colleagues based on your topic/sector expertise.
The Operations Practice Area is one of BCG's functional practices, helping clients build competitive advantage through improved performance and stronger strategic capabilities. Within Operations, the Maintenance topic focuses on helping clients improve asset reliability, maintenance strategy, and overall equipment/asset performance across industries.
As a Manager on the CF track supporting the Operations Practice Area's Maintenance topic, you will be:
- Delivering hands-on client impact through case staffing – often onsite – working closely with case teams to solve maintenance-related challenges (e.g., maintenance strategy, reliability-centered maintenance, asset management/EAM-CMMS optimization, preventive/predictive maintenance, maintenance organization design)
- Building and codifying Maintenance knowledge assets, frameworks, and IP to support case teams and the broader practice
- Supporting the Maintenance topic's go-to-market approach, in partnership with Operations leadership
You're Good At
Solving complex client problems through relevant analytical approaches and pragmatic, tailored solutions in Maintenance and broader Operations topics
- Engaging and communicating with client stakeholders and senior leaders with credibility and confidence, both in person and virtually
- Operating effectively in fast-paced, ambiguous environments, and adapting quickly as client and case needs evolve
- Working collaboratively as part of a global, virtual team, while also contributing effectively onsite with clients
- Understanding, designing and deploying AI agents, skills and tools to improve impact and productivity
- Bringing a curious, entrepreneurial mindset – open to new ideas and able to propose innovative approaches to unfamiliar problems
- Multi-tasking and navigating a matrix organization, balancing case work with broader topic-building priorities
- Demonstrating a strong work ethic and service mentality, with a willingness to showcase and share your expertise
- Managing projects with ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating business sense and adaptability
- Training, coaching, and mentoring junior team members
What You'll Bring
- 3+ years of consulting experience in Maintenance, Operations, or a related industrial/asset-intensive field; candidates with consulting experience strongly preferred
- In lieu of consulting experience, 4+ years minimum industry experience required, ideally in maintenance, reliability, asset management, or broader operations roles; 6-10+ years of relevant industry experience strongly preferred
- Bachelor's Degree required (advanced degree preferred, e.g., in Engineering or a related field)
- Fluency in English; Spanish language preferred
- Strong business acumen and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to apply analytical rigor to real-world maintenance and operational challenges
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written) to interact with internal and external stakeholder while working in a global collaborative team environment
- Deep understanding and expertise in Maintenance, Asset Management, Reliability, or related domains
Who You'll Work With
As a Manager – BCG Vantage on our Client Focus path, you will work face to face with clients and with BCG Project Leaders, Associates and Consultants.
