The Grant Financial Officer is part of the Finance Team and will report directly to the Head of Finance. The role is responsible for grant assurance and financial compliance throughout the grant lifecycle, supporting sub-grantees and internal stakeholders to ensure the sound financial management of grants and compliance with Horizon Europe, EIT Urban Mobility, and other applicable funding requirements.
Key responsibilities

Support partners in understanding and interpretation the rules of Horizon Europe.
- Contribute to EIT Urban Mobility´s audit processes (EIT Certificate on the Financial Statements, internal checks, statutory audits).
- Ensure the correct allocation of costs for each transaction in coordination with the Accounting and Controlling functions.
- Support internal teams and sub-grantees during amendments to Financial Support Agreements.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of NetSuite in collaboration with the IT team.
- Participate in the preparation of the budget implementation, financing decisions, and the annual Business Plan, as well as in the planning, preparation, monitoring, and reporting of the budget. Provide support for budget management in compliance with applicable financial regulations.
- Support the preparation of EIT Urban Mobility's annual financial report and annual grant amendment.
- Support the processing and follow-up of grant and sub-grant payments, acting as back-up within the Finance Team when required.
- Support audit and internal review processes through the preparation of documentation, reconciliations, and follow-up actions.
What you will bring along the way:
Must-haves

Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in an audit firm, including at least 3 years of experience auditing EU-funded projects.
- Experience working with organisations with complex governance structures, multiple legal entities, diverse stakeholders, and European networks.
- Experience in the financial management and monitoring of EU-funded projects.
- Professional proficiency in written and spoken English (minimum C1 level).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and diagnostic skills.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to a variety of audiences.
- Strong team player with excellent collaboration skills.
- Hands-on, proactive, and solution-oriented mindset.

Kindly note that this is a permanent and full-time position and it is based in Barcelona, Spain.
Possibility to homework 2 days a week.
