As Director of SAP MDM/MDG , you will own the end-to-end strategy, design, and governance of master data across our global Life Sciences organization. Sitting within the Digital organization, you will serve as the definitive authority on master data quality, architecture, and lifecycle management, partnering with Manufacturing & Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance, and Commercial to ensure data is a trusted, governed asset at every level of the enterprise.
This is a high-visibility leadership role central to our strategic transformation from legacy MDM platforms to SAP S/4HANA. You will lead a team of experienced leads and specialists, drive cross-functional alignment, and shape the future of how our organization manages its most critical data domains: Material, Customer, Vendor, and Finance master data.
Lead the end-to-end architecture, solution design, and implementation of SAP MDG across Material, Customer, Vendor, and Finance master data domains, ensuring alignment with S/4HANA standards and Life Sciences regulatory requirements (GxP, IDMP, GDPR, serialization).
Define and execute the master data transformation roadmap, including migration from legacy MDM platforms to SAP S/4HANA, covering scoping, deployment strategy, cutover planning, and hypercare activities.
Establish and continuously evolve the enterprise Master Data Governance framework, including policies, standards, data ownership models, stewardship processes, KPIs, SLAs, and governance boards.
Act as the primary liaison between Digital and business functions (Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Procurement, Finance, Commercial), translating business requirements into scalable and sustainable master data solutions.
Own the integration strategy between SAP MDG and the broader technology landscape (S/4HANA, CRM, PLM, WMS, external data providers), ensuring data consistency, golden record management, and efficient data exchange mechanisms.
Drive enterprise-wide data quality initiatives, including profiling, cleansing, deduplication, validation controls, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement programs to enhance data accuracy, completeness, and reliability.
Lead change management and stakeholder engagement activities related to governance operating models, system transitions, S/4HANA programs, and M&A integrations, ensuring adoption and business continuity.
Contribute to the organization's long-term data strategy by promoting modern data management capabilities, reducing technical debt, supporting AI and analytics readiness, and leveraging industry best practices and SAP roadmap innovations.
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or a related field preferred.
- 15+ years of experience in Master Data Management or Data Governance, with at least 4 years in a senior leadership role managing teams of teams.
- SAP certifications in MDG, S/4HANA, or related modules are a plus.
- Fluent in English (Spanish is a plus); additional languages are an asset in a global organization .

- Extensive experience leading large-scale data governance, MDM, and SAP S/4HANA transformation programs, driving organizational change, adoption, and business value realization.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing capabilities, with the ability to engage and align senior executives, business leaders, and technical teams across functions and geographies.
- Deep expertise in SAP Master Data Governance (MDG), including solution design, workflow configuration, data replication, consolidation processes, and governance operating models.
- Strong knowledge of SAP master data domains (Material, Business Partner/Customer/Vendor, and Finance), as well as S/4HANA migration methodologies, data cleansing, cutover planning, and post-go-live stabilization.
- Solid understanding of enterprise MDM architectures, data quality management, integration patterns, and the broader SAP ecosystem, including SAP BTP, Data Services, and related data management technologies.
- Experience in regulated environments, ideally within Life Sciences, with familiarity in GxP, IDMP, serialization, data integrity, and regulatory compliance requirements.
