Located in the charming Born district, at the very heart of Barcelona’s Ciutat Vella, Miiro Borneta Hotel offers 92 stylish rooms, an open-kitchen restaurant, a cocktail bar, and a spectacular rooftop terrace with breathtaking views of the city center. The Role
We are seeking a commercially astute and creatively driven Director of Sales to lead the sales strategy for Borneta.
This is a pivotal leadership role—responsible for shaping demand, building meaningful partnerships, and positioning the hotel as a destination within Barcelona’s competitive luxury landscape. You will be both strategist and storyteller, balancing data-led decision making with a deep understanding of our brand, our neighbourhood, and our guests.
What You’ll Do
Commercial Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and execute a multi-segment sales strategy across corporate, leisure, MICE, and partnerships
- Drive revenue performance in alignment with budget, pace, and market conditions
- Identify and unlock new business opportunities locally and internationally
- Act as a key contributor to pricing, distribution, and demand strategies alongside Revenue Management
Business Development
- Build and maintain a strong portfolio of key accounts across corporate, agency, and luxury travel networks
- Represent Borneta within the Barcelona market and across Miiro’s European footprint
- Lead proactive sales activity including client entertainment, roadshows, and trade events
- Establish strategic partnerships that enhance both rooms and F&B performance
MICE & Group Performance
- Grow group and events revenue through targeted prospecting and conversion strategies
- Oversee the end-to-end sales journey from enquiry through to contracting
- Work closely with operations to ensure seamless delivery and repeat business
- Maximise utilisation of hotel spaces as compelling event venues
Team Leadership
- Lead, inspire, and develop the on-property sales team
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and commercial awareness
- Ensure clear communication across Sales, Revenue, Marketing, and Operations
- Champion a high-performance environment with measurable goals and outcomes
Brand & Market Positioning
- Act as a brand ambassador, ensuring all sales activity reflects Miiro’s tone and ethos
- Collaborate with Marketing and PR to elevate visibility and storytelling
- Ensure Borneta is positioned as a distinctive Barcelona destination
- Translate brand values into compelling sales narratives that resonate with our audiences
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in a senior sales leadership role within luxury or lifestyle hospitality
- Strong track record of driving revenue growth across multiple segments
- Deep understanding of the Barcelona market and international feeder markets
- Commercially savvy with the ability to interpret data and translate it into action
- A natural relationship builder with strong negotiation skills
- Confident, articulate, and inspiring communicator
- Experience with CRM and PMS platforms (e.g. Apaléo, Opera, Revinate)
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to influence across departments
- Fluent in English and Spanish; additional languages are advantageous
