Diamond Foundry Inc. is solving the thermal limitation at the foundation of today's most exciting tech industries - AI & cloud compute, electric-car power electronics, and 5G/6G wireless. We have managed to produce the world's first single-crystal diamond wafers and are now on a mission to put a diamond behind every chip. We are the rare unicorn that has grown fast and profitably. We received $515m in funding and are executing a multi-$B expansion plan for one of the greenest forms of tech manufacturing: converting greenhouse gas into diamond wafers using zero-emission energy.
We are seeking a Mechanical Designer to support the Gas Systems engineering team with the mechanical design and detailing of process skids, test-bench equipment and mechanical assemblies for pilot-line and facility projects in Zaragoza. The Mechanical Designer works under the lead of a senior designer, who drives the conceptual design, and is responsible for turning that direction into complete, fabrication-ready drawing packages. The role offers strong technical exposure within a long-term engineering programme and the opportunity to deepen process-systems expertise through close collaboration with senior engineering.
Mechanical Design & Modeling: Developing detailed mechanical designs, advanced 3D models, and 2D manufacturing drawings for gas handling and conversion equipment using SolidWorks. Ensuring design feasibility, analyzing constraints, and guaranteeing seamless integration with existing plant systems.
Gas Systems Compliance & Material Selection: Evaluating and selecting optimal materials and fabrication processes tailored for gas service applications. Ensuring all designs strictly comply with European regulations, industry standards, and environmental, health, and safety (HSE) guidelines.
Project Collaboration & Innovation: Collaborating closely with senior designers and cross-functional teams (Facilities, Process, Automation) to meet deadlines and optimize resource allocation. Actively participating in design reviews, lessons learned, and proposing continuous improvements.
Pilot-Line & Facility Project Support: Supporting pilot-line and facility engineering projects throughout their entire lifecycle, from initial concept and detailed design through procurement support and final as-built documentation phases.
Design Documentation & Revision Control: Managing and maintaining comprehensive drawing registers, enforcing strict engineering revision controls, and archiving all design documentation in full compliance with company standards and data management protocols.
Proven proficiency in CAD (SolidWorks, AutoCAD or Inventor), producing fabrication-ready drawing packages.
Experience with process or gas systems, skids, installation/commissioning support, and pilot-scale equipment.
Ability to work independently, manage assigned tasks within deadlines, and communicate effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
Fluent in English and Spanish, with the communication skills needed to work effectively within an international, fast-paced engineering team.
