Build and scale the NDC aggregation engine in Go — a high-throughput API that normalises multi-airline NDC responses into a single canonical schema. You'll own service reliability, design REST APIs, and work at the intersection of distributed systems and airline distribution.
What you'll do
- Design and maintain high-throughput Go services (chi/v5) that fan out across a bunch of airline NDC APIs concurrently via errgroup, circuit breakers, and per-connector timeouts.
- Own service reliability — on-call rotations, incident response, structured logging (zerolog), and post-mortems.
- Evolve the internal adapter framework (ndcmaster + per-airline packages) to onboard new airline connections efficiently.
- Work with PostgreSQL (pgx/v5) for durable order/offer state and Redis (go-redis/v9) for cache-aside offer caching, rate limiting, and API-key lookups.
- Define and enforce engineering standards around testing, observability (Prometheus / OpenTelemetry), and deployment (Docker multi-stage, Kubernetes, Render.com).
What we're looking for
- 3+ years of backend engineering experience, with production Go.
- Experience building REST APIs and working with relational databases (PostgreSQL).
- Comfortable with Redis for caching and rate-limiting patterns.
- Familiarity with containerised deployments (Docker) and infrastructure-as-code (Render Blueprint / Kubernetes).
- Strong opinion on code quality, testing (table-driven), and documentation.
Nice to have
- Experience with message queues (RabbitMQ) for async work distribution.
- Prior exposure to airline or travel industry APIs (NDC, GDS, IATA standards).
- Familiarity with OAuth2 client_credentials flows and XML/JSON transformations.
