Reporting to: Controlling & Investment Analysis Director
Based in: Madrid, Spain
The selected professional will monitor and analyze project activities, financial reports, and deviations to ensure accurate budgeting, cost tracking, and operational performance.
What will you do?
- Monitor and control the financial performance of X-Elio’s current operating assets, assets under construction, and pipeline projects.
- Analyze financial deviations and provide explanations and recommendations for corrective actions.
- Prepare G&A cost reports and communicate issues related to budget deviations or other concerns.
- Generate rolling 12-month cash flow reports, 3-year cash flow projections, and pipeline analysis to support decision-making
- Provide regular updates and insights on budgetary control measures and financial performance relative to investment targets.
- Collaborate with the Accounting team to ensure alignment in financial records, reporting, and compliance.
- Track and analyze capital expenditure (CAPEX) reports.
- Compare and track the construction budget versus actual costs.
- Analyze costs received from the main company to determine re-invoicing to other group companies.
- Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess project and operational performance.
What do we need?
- 5+ years of experience in Controlling/Finance roles, ideally within the renewable energy, infrastructure, or project-based environments.
- Strong understanding of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis methodologies.
- Proven experience working with project-based financials (CAPEX/OPEX tracking, construction budgets, or asset performance monitoring).
- Background knowledge of accounting principles and financial statements (P&L, cash flow, balance sheet).
- Experience working in international and fast-paced environments, with multiple stakeholders across functions.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present financial information to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
- Advanced level of English and Spanish.
- Domain of SAP (preferably BPC) and Microsoft Excel
