The Seniors Active Living Centre (SALC) provides programs and services to promote the physical, emotional and social well-being of seniors that enables seniors to remain independent, active, healthy and socially engaged. We are seeking a motivated Casual Team Member to join our SALC team. The successful candidate will support daily operations and contribute to a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment.
The incumbent will be responsible for the following duties:
- Supporting centre members with daily activities and programmed supports
- Assisting with group activities, recreation, and community outings
- Maintaining a safe, clean, and organized environment
- Communicating effectively with team members
- Communicating with the general public in a professional, respectful, and informative manner
- Answering questions, providing directions or program information, and referring inquiries as appropriate
Qualifications:
- Successful completion of Grade 12 or recognized equivalency
- 1 – 2 years’ experience in a customer service environment.
- Experience and passion for supporting innovative recreational and social programs that promote active living
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Reliability and punctuality
- Ability to work co-operatively with a variety of people in a team environment
- Capable of meeting the physical demands of the job- i.e. sitting, standing, bending, lifting
- Willingness to wear personal protective apparel (mask, gloves)
- Current First Aid and CPR certificates are desirable
Salary range: $22.52 – $24.34/ hr.
