The Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for driving thorough and timely PPAP execution in compliance to internal procedures and APQP requirements, own KPIs for assigned suppliers and their performance to quality expectations Conduct/lead supplier Root Cause Analysis, and drive effective containment on quality issues and reduced quality risk. Identify and implement process improvements via close collaboration with Supplier and internal GE Vernova Technical team members.
Roles and Responsibilities
As the Supplier Quality Engineer - Electrical, you will be responsible for:
- Both Supplier Quality Assurance and Supplier Quality Development.
- Execute supplier PPAP/qualifications, action plans, audits, performance monitoring, and assisting key suppliers towards industrial standards of excellence.
- Drive PPAP rigor to APQP and internal procedure requirements.
- Cross functional collaboration with engineering/sourcing/product management to achieve alignment towards quality objectives.
- Execute audit plan on assigned components/suppliers.
- Support and lead where necessary analysis and containment of supplier escaping defects.
Required Qualifications
- This role requires experience in Manufacturing, & Supplier Quality Engineering
- Technical experience with Electrical systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent (Minimum).
- Problem Solving and structured RCA process execution experience
- Knowledge and application of APQP, PPAP, Measurement system analysis, PFMEA, Statistical process capability, RCA methods and Auditing.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex workload independently.
- Experience with Lean techniques and tools.
- Flexibility to work with cross functional teams in multiple time zones including US, Europe
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 40% of the time
Desired Characteristics
- Experience in Advanced Product Quality Planning and sourcing quality from the Wind or Automotive Sectors
- Master’s degree in advanced manufacturing/processes.
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
- Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
- Established project management skills
