Field Service Technician

About the Role
NCR Atleos is seeking a customer-focused and technically skilled Field Service Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair ATMs and related self-service banking devices. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring high availability of customer equipment, delivering exceptional service, and meeting service level agreements (SLAs).
This position requires a hands-on professional who can work independently in the field, diagnose technical issues, manage customer expectations, and maintain strong relationships with customers and third-party service providers. The role involves regular travel within South Africa and participation in standby and shift rotations as required.
Position Summary
The Field Service Technician is responsible for the installation, repair, maintenance, and support of ATMs and related devices across assigned territories. The role focuses on equipment uptime, service excellence, timely issue resolution, and adherence to operational and safety procedures.
The incumbent will troubleshoot hardware-related issues, provide multi-vendor maintenance services, maintain accurate service records, manage spare parts inventory through mobile applications, and communicate effectively with customers throughout the service lifecycle.
Key Areas of Responsibility

Install, repair, maintain, and upgrade ATMs and related self-service devices to meet customer and business requirements.

Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and system issues using established procedures and customer-provided information.

Manage customer incidents from initial assignment through resolution, ensuring compliance with defined SLAs.

Maintain accurate electronic service records, call notes, equipment activity reports, and inventory transactions through approved mobile applications.

Build and maintain positive customer relationships by providing timely updates, resolving concerns, and escalating issues when necessary.

Perform multi-vendor maintenance, equipment modifications, certifications, and business-required technical training.

Travel extensively within South Africa to support service calls, installations, preventive maintenance, and emergency repairs.

Participate in on-call rotations, weekend shifts, public holiday support, and standby schedules as required by business needs.
Basic Qualifications

High School Diploma, Technical Certificate, or equivalent qualification in Electronics, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field.

Minimum of 2 years of experience in field service, technical support, hardware maintenance, or equipment repair.

Experience troubleshooting and repairing electromechanical, computer, or self-service technology equipment.

Valid driver's license with the ability and willingness to travel extensively within South Africa.

Ability to work independently, manage multiple service calls, and meet customer service level agreements.

Basic knowledge of computer hardware, networking, diagnostic tools, and mobile service applications.

Willingness to participate in standby rosters, shift work, weekend, and public holiday coverage.
Preferred Qualifications

Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

Experience supporting ATM, financial services, banking, retail, or self-service technology environments.

Industry certifications in hardware maintenance, networking, IT support, or related technical disciplines.

Experience providing multi-vendor equipment support and field service operations.

Strong customer service, conflict resolution, and communication skills.

Previous experience working with ticket management systems, mobile workforce applications, and service reporting tools.

Demonstrated ability to train, mentor, or support junior technicians and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

- samodzielne zarządzanie zgłoszeniami serwisowymi od momentu przydzielenia aż do pełnego rozwiązania;
- prowadzenie szczegółowej dokumentacji serwisowej w formie elektroniczej;
- budowanie i utrzymywanie pozytywnych relacji z klientami poprzez regularne informowanie o stanie naprawy.
Nasze wymagania
- 2-letnie doświadczenie zawodowe na podobnym stanowisku (serwis, konserwacja lub naprawa urządzeń);
- wiedza i umiejętności w zakresie diagnostyki oraz naprawy sprzętów elektromechanicznych;
- prawo jazdy kategorii B;
- znajomość języka angielskiego w stopniu komunikatywnym
- umiejętność samodzielnej organizacji pracy i zarządzania wieloma zgłoszeniami serwisowymi;
- gotowość do pełnienia dyżurów i pracy zmianowej (w tym weekendy i święta);
- komunikatywność.
Mile widziane
- średnie lub wyższe wykształcenie mechaniczne, elektroniczne, informatyczne lub pokrewne;
- doświadczenie w naprawie urządzeń samoobsługowych (na przykład: kasy, bankomaty, wpłatomaty, EPOS);
- certyfikaty lub dyplomy branżowe z zakresu konserwacji sprzętu, wsparcia IT lub podobnych;
- doświadczenie w pracy mobilnej;
- umiejętność prowadzania szkoleń oraz mentorowania i wspierania młodszych stażemm serwisantek(ów),
