What you will do:
Provides specialized technical support to engineering and construction teams across EDPR countries, supporting control and electrical infrastructure projects, including architecture definition, signal lists, HMI and control algorithms. Coordinates and supervises engineering activities performed internally or by external partners, ensuring technical quality and cost-efficient solutions.
You will be responsible for,
General responsibilities:
- Supports Procurement during supplier qualification and selection processes and leads the technical evaluation of ICPS suppliers and commissioning service providers. Defines and maintains qualification and testing procedures, supervising validation activities to ensure compliance with EDP technical specifications and quality standards.
- Supports the identification, selection and management of specialized control and commissioning service providers, participating in the supervision of commissioning activities and ensuring compliance with quality and safety requirements.
- Defines and updates commissioning, testing, inspection and Dispatch Centre integration procedures. Supports the development of electrical procedures and workflows, evaluates electromechanical and control engineering processes, and contributes to grid compliance testing and Dispatch Centre integration activities.
- Collaborates with Construction and Operations teams during project handover, managing the resolution of pending HV control and electromechanical issues and coordinating contractors and suppliers to ensure proper facility performance.
- Provides technical support to Technology & Engineering and regional Engineering & Construction teams on matters related to electrical infrastructure, control systems and associated projects.
- Supports technical qualification and homologation processes for manufacturers and suppliers, participating in workshops and technical discussions with manufacturers and technology providers to ensure alignment with industry developments and EDPR standards.
- Ensures the application of corporate standards across studies and projects, maximizing consistency and investment efficiency. Acts as a technical focal point during the adaptation of corporate ICPS and electrical standards to local regulatory requirements and ensures alignment with local suppliers throughout RFP processes.
- Supports the preparation of technical specifications and requests for proposals, monitors the development and execution of engineering studies and projects, and ensures technical compliance throughout engineering, construction, commissioning and operational phases.
- Provides technical support in the development of engineering and automation tools, including solutions for automated signal list generation, and contributes to the definition of functional and technical requirements aligned with ICPS standards and project needs.
- Promotes and ensures compliance with occupational health, safety, environmental and quality policies, as well as company procedures and applicable legal requirements.
- Represents EDPR before public and private institutions, suppliers and external stakeholders on matters related to electrical infrastructure and control systems, safeguarding the company's technical interests and standards.

What are we looking for:
1. Academic Skills:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or Automation or Telecommunication Engineering.
- A postgraduate will be valued.
2. Professional Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Electromechanical, Control and Automation engineering for transmission and distribution networks.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the specification and design of control systems.
- Experience in on-site commissioning process in ICPS and substations.
- Previous experience with renewable energy (e.g. Solar PV, Wind) electrical infrastructures.
- Grid compliance testing experience.
- International projects experience.
3. Specific Knowledge:
- Experience with design software (AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN or similar).
- Expert knowledge of electrical standards, and ability to apply pertinent industry standards and codes.
- Experience with control systems as Micro SCADA (ABB), PACIS (SCHNEIDER), SICAM-PAS (SIEMENS), SIPCO (INGETEAM), etc.
- Expert knowledge of controls engineering practices and procedures. Proficiency knowledge of industrial communication protocols (IEC 60870-5-104, IEC 60870-5-101, IEC 61850, LON, Modbus, DNP3).
- PLC industrial control programming experience
4. Languages:
- English - at least C1
- Spanish - Native or C1
5.Skills:
- Ability to work in a multi-national team, with people in different countries and labor calendar.
- Strong technical, analytical, quantitative, strategic and management skills.
- Ability to quickly understand the basics of a variety of subjects relating to renewable energy including civil and electromechanical engineering designs, construction-related processes, environmental, and cultural studies.
- Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work productively with limited supervision.
- Strong time-management skills and ability to multi-task.
- Strong interest in renewable energy and utility business.
