The Challenge
You’ll work on the modernization and migration of two legacy Java/Groovy applications to AWS, preserving existing functionality while adapting the applications to a modern cloud environment.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Modernizing and migrating Java/Groovy applications to AWS
- Maintaining and upgrading components using Spring Boot and Gradle
- Supporting PostgreSQL → Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL migration
- Managing integrations with databases, APIs, SFTP/FTP, Snowflake, messaging systems and Control-M
- Handling packaging, deployment, configuration, logging and monitoring
- Troubleshooting migration, connectivity, authentication and integration issues
- Supporting testing, validation and production readiness
- Participating in cutover and rollback activities
- Collaborating with Application, Infrastructure, Database, Security and Operations teams
- Contributing to application stability and performance throughout the migration
Candidate Requirements
We’re looking for a Mid-Level Software Engineer with:
- Solid experience with Java and/or Groovy
- Experience with Spring Boot
- Experience with Gradle
- Hands-on experience maintaining, modernizing or migrating legacy applications
- Experience working with enterprise applications
- Practical experience with AWS
AWS
Experience with:
- S3
- Parameter Store
- SNS
- SQS
- CloudWatch
- ECR
Experience deploying or migrating applications to AWS will be highly valued.
PostgreSQL & Data
- Strong PostgreSQL experience
- Advanced SQL
- Database migration experience
- Experience with Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL / RDS is a plus
