Olympic Broadcasting Services (OBS) was created by the International Olympic Committee in 2001 in order to serve as the Host Broadcast organisation for all Olympic Games, Olympic Winter Games and Youth Olympic Games.
About The Role:
The Broadcast Technology Manager will lead the planning, coordination and delivery of key broadcast technology projects within the Venue Technical Operations (VTO) department. This role brings together technical expertise, project ownership and vendor management to ensure new broadcast solutions are clearly defined, successfully integrated, tested and ready for Games-time operations.
Working across the Olympic lifecycle, the Broadcast Technology Manager will act as a key link between VTO, Broadcast Engineering, Technology, Cyber Security, Production Technical Managers and external partners. The role will help deliver secure, reliable and future-focused broadcast technology solutions that support OBS’ mission to bring the Olympic Games to audiences around the world.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Broadcast Technology Ownership
Lead the implementation and integration of Software Defined Broadcasting (SDB) architectures, including virtualised production, IP media infrastructures, cloud-enabled workflows and modern broadcast orchestration platforms.
Provide technical ownership for UHD and High Dynamic Range (HDR) production workflows, with expert knowledge of Hybrid Log Gamma (HLG), HDR/SDR interoperability, colour management and professional video and audio standards.
Support projects involving audio over IP, timing, remote production, virtualised production systems and monitoring platforms.
Vendor & Service Delivery Management
Coordinate design reviews, technical workshops, testing, commissioning and operational readiness activities.
Cyber Security (Knowledge)
