The Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal) is a cutting-edge institute addressing global public health challenges through research, translation into policy and education. ISGlobal has a broad portfolio in communicable and non-communicable diseases including environmental and climate determinants, and applies a multidisciplinary scientific approach ranging from the molecular to the population level. Research is organized in five programs: Climate, Air Pollution, Nature and Urban Health; Environment and Health over the Lifecourse; Global Viral and Bacterial Infections; Malaria and Neglected Parasitic Diseases and Maternal Child and Reproductive Health. ISGlobal is looking for a full-time Project Manager that will coordinate the overall execution of the ACROBAT project, with support of the scientific and clinical coordinators, ensuring alignment with project objectives, agreed timelines, resources and quality standards, providing input and support to the research team and the partners linked to the project.
Lead overall ACROBAT's implementation, according to scientific and operational work plan.
Ensure that project activities are implemented according to project objectives and timelines
Identify and escalate issues through existing channels.
Monitor the project progress with identified project management tools and data analysis software, and promote timely decision-making.
Monitor project adherence to the legal frameworks, written protocols, procedures and agreements with the funders/sponsors.
Meet with project’s PI and WP leaders, technical teams, budget holders and grants managers to review project expenditure, and provide support as requested in planning the next year’s budget.
Guide timely procurement of resources and items necessary to execute study protocols and activities.
Ensure a proper filing (hard copies or electronic documentation) of all protocol-related and non-protocol-related project documents.
Supervise and coordinate the work of local teams and Partners across ACROBAT study sites (Mozambique, Gabon, Ethiopia and Uganda).
Supervise and mentor other junior colleagues in the admin/finance/operational sections of the project.
Detect potential logistic and timeline risks, propose solutions, and escalate issues to the appropriate senior expert when necessary.
Act as focal contact for study implementation with the funder, sponsors, and external collaborators or contracted services.
Prepare technical summaries of project activities, progress and achievements for internal and external reporting, including preparation and submission of deliverables and project reports to the EC.
Support economic reporting by coordinating work of all grant managers and liaising between the European Commission in each reporting period.
Support the PIs and Scientific Direction to create links between ACROBAT and other relevant institutional hubs or programmes.
Support implementation of activities from other projects in the group that serve as the basis or interact with the ACROBAT project.
Contribute to the dissemination of study outcomes to key stakeholders and national regulatory bodies, and participate in data analysis, interpretation, publications and oral presentations if desired.

The post holder will adhere to ISGlobal principles contained in People management policy, including Equity, diversity and health safety. The post holder will respect, and be accountable to ensure ISGlobal policies and procedures.
PhD degree in biomedicine or a relevant field, with knowledge of tropical medicine and global health, and interest in managing consortium-based, international projects.
Demonstrated experience in managing European projects (Horizon, EDCTP) or consortium-based projects, including the reporting to funders.
Demonstrated experience in implementing large clinical studies and trials, single site or multi-site.
Experience working with data collection and management tools, as well as data analysis tools.
Contract: 2 years
Salary: According to ISGlobal internal salary scale
Work-Life Balance: 36 days off per year (23 vacation days + 13 personal days)

The selection process is designed in two phases:
1- Interview phase of a technical nature, with the team that requires the incorporation. To assess the person's skills and CV.
2 - Meeting with HR with the finalist(s) to finish assessing the profile and discuss contractual and institutional issues.
If needed any technical test could be passed. A Psychological Competency Evaluation Test will be required for the structural or transversal positions.
