This role works in the Security Operations Center as first line of defense – the main duties of the role are:
Review, prioritize and investigate SIEM alerts
Document cyber incidents and implement incident response plans
Follow patch management and vulnerability testing processes
Assist with risk management, audit and compliance requirements
Security alerts monitoring:
Monitor HBX Environment through the SIEM solution. This includes monitoring security systems, apps, and networks for anomalies that could suggest a breach or assault
Investigate suspicious activities, contain and prevent them:
With the assistance of security monitoring tools, SOC analysts look into suspicious activity within IT systems and networks. SoC analyst does this reviewing and analyzing alerts from the SIEM, which may contain signs of compromise and related threat intelligence. Analysts perform triage on alerts, understand the extent of the threat, and respond, or if necessary, escalate the incident to higher-tier analysts
Audit and compliance support:
Provide support for internal and external security audit requirements and execute periodic security audits. Is responsible for monitoring the auditing systems in place to meet compliance requirements.
