Junior Legal Counsel – Commercial & Employment Law
Location: Antequera, Málaga, Spain
Salary: €2,000 net/month × 12 payments
Paid annual leave: 30 days
Working hours: 09:00–17:00, with flexibility based on business needs
Company vehicle: Used manual-transmission company car + limited fuel allowance
We Are Looking for More Than a Junior Lawyer
We are currently establishing a global manufacturing company in Antequera, Málaga, specialising in the production of baker’s yeast and bread mixes.
Our Spanish company will become the headquarters of the Group’s global manufacturing operations and will play an important role in the Group’s development in both local and international markets.
We are therefore looking for a newly qualified Junior Lawyer who wants to grow with the company and develop strong expertise in Commercial Law and Employment Law.
This is not a position for someone who simply wants to complete their daily working hours.
If your main objective is to watch the clock until 17:00, you probably do not need to read further. :))
We are looking for someone who sees this position as an opportunity to learn, build and grow alongside the company.
What We Are Looking For
We are not expecting you to know every law, regulation or legal procedure by heart.
What matters to us is that you know how to find the right answer quickly, where to look for it, how to verify it and how to turn your research into a practical solution for the business.
You should be someone who:
- Is a qualified Law graduate and admitted to the relevant Bar Association in Spain.
- Has a genuine interest in developing a career in Commercial Law and Employment Law.
- Has excellent English, both written and spoken. This is an essential requirement.
- Is ambitious, hardworking, proactive, open-minded and highly motivated to learn.
- Is comfortable working in an international and multicultural business environment.
- Has a strong problem-solving mindset and does not give up when faced with bureaucracy, administrative obstacles or an unfamiliar legal issue.
- Believes that most problems have more than one possible solution and is determined to find the best and safest solution for the company.
- Is highly results-oriented and understands that legal advice should help the business move forward, not simply explain why something cannot be done.
- Is capable of managing several matters simultaneously and prioritising effectively. Multitasking is essential for this position.
- Is willing to take responsibility and ownership rather than waiting to be told what to do.
- Is comfortable travelling nationally and internationally without restrictions.
- Holds a valid driving licence and is confident driving a manual-transmission vehicle.
This Is a Build-It-From-the-Ground-Up Opportunity
You will join the company at a particularly exciting stage: before and during the establishment of its operations in Spain.
Your work will therefore not be limited to reviewing contracts or answering routine legal questions.
You will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience across areas such as:
- Company establishment and corporate matters.
- Permits, licences and regulatory requirements.
- Commercial and distribution agreements.
- Supplier and customer contracts.
- Manufacturing-related legal matters.
- Employment Law and employee relations.
- Corporate governance and internal policies.
- Commercial negotiations.
- Legal risk management.
- Relations with public authorities and external advisers.
- Cross-border legal matters within the Group.
- Supporting the Group's activities in both Spanish and international markets.
You will learn by doing.
You will be expected to research, ask questions, take responsibility, propose solutions and gradually take ownership of increasingly important legal matters.
The Person We Want to Meet
Ultimately, we are looking for someone who thinks:
“I may not know the answer yet, but I know how to find it — and I will find it.”
We want someone who sees the company as more than an employer.
We are looking for a person who can develop a genuine ownership mentality: someone who treats the company's legal and commercial interests as if they were their own.
As the company grows, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to grow with it — potentially developing into a senior legal leadership role and, in time, Head of Legal / General Counsel for the Group.
This is therefore a role for someone who is ambitious, entrepreneurial, resilient and hungry to learn.
If you are looking for a comfortable position where you simply complete your assigned tasks and leave at 17:00, this probably is not the right opportunity for you.
If, however, you want to build something from the beginning, learn rapidly, take responsibility, solve real problems and eventually lead your own legal team, we would very much like to hear from you.
Working Style
Our official working hours are 09:00–17:00.
However, we are not interested in measuring commitment by the number of hours someone spends physically sitting at a desk.
What matters is that the company's legal matters are handled correctly, efficiently and on time.
Depending on the nature of the work, the lawyer may organise their work between the office and remote working, always prioritising the interests and needs of the company.
In other words, results and responsibility matter more to us than simply being present for the sake of being present.
What We Offer
- €2,000 net monthly salary, paid in 12 monthly payments.
- 30 days of paid annual leave per year.
- Salary paid between the 5th and 10th of each month.
- A used manual-transmission company car, subject to company policy and with a limited fuel allowance.
- The opportunity to join a global manufacturing group at the very beginning of its Spanish operations.
- Genuine exposure to Commercial Law, Employment Law, corporate matters, regulatory work and international business.
- Direct involvement in building the legal foundations of the company.
- A genuine long-term opportunity to grow into a legal leadership position as the Group expands.
Location
The position is based in Antequera, Málaga, Spain, at our industrial site in the Antequera industrial area.
Candidates already living in Antequera, Málaga or the surrounding area will be preferred.
Mandatory Requirements
To be considered for the position, candidates must:
- Have a Law degree.
- Be admitted to the relevant Spanish Bar Association.
- Have excellent English proficiency.
- Hold a valid driving licence and be able to drive a manual-transmission vehicle.
- Be able to travel nationally and internationally without restrictions.
- Demonstrate strong communication, research, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Be genuinely motivated to build a long-term career within the company.
If this sounds like you...
We are not looking for a perfect lawyer.
We are looking for a hungry one.
Someone who wants to learn.
Someone who wants to take responsibility.
Someone who does not accept “this cannot be done” as the end of the conversation.
Someone who can find the legal route that makes the business work while protecting the company's interests.
If you have the ambition to grow from Junior Lawyer into the person leading the Group's legal function one day, we want to meet you.
Apply through Indeed with your CV and tell us, briefly, why you believe you are the right person to build this journey with us.
