About the Role
The British School of Madrid is offering an exciting Care Assistant Internship for students or recent graduates who are passionate about working with children in an international school environment. This role provides valuable hands-on experience supporting pupils’ wellbeing, development, and daily care within a safe and stimulating setting.
As a Care Assistant Intern, you will work closely with teaching and pastoral staff to support children’s practical, emotional, and developmental needs throughout the school day.
Assisting children with practical daily tasks and routines
Observing and monitoring children’s needs and development
Supporting and supervising activities in a safe, engaging environment
Encouraging children’s emotional, social, and cognitive development
Monitoring changes in children’s health and wellbeing, including emotional and mental health, and reporting any concerns
Liaising with parents, teachers, and relevant staff to ensure pupils’ needs are met
Contributing to a positive, caring, and inclusive school environment
Undertaking required training to support professional development and safeguarding standards
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
University studies related to Education, Childcare, Psychology, Health, or a similar field
A caring, responsible, and patient approach to working with children
The ability to act as a positive role model within the school community
A proactive, flexible, and enthusiastic attitude
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Intermediate level of Spanish (English required; bilingual candidates preferred)
A genuine interest in child development and wellbeing
