Job Title: Distinguished Researcher and Group Leader
Research Group: Theory and Simulation
ICN2 opens this call to hire a Group Leader with a contract length for 2 years.
Main Tasks and responsibilities:
Group Leader tasks:
We are seeking an outstanding and highly motivated scientist to lead an independent research programme in Theory and Simulation. This position offers the opportunity to build and lead a dynamic research team in a stimulating and internationally competitive environment.
As Principal Investigator (PI), the successful candidate will develop and drive innovative research lines, secure competitive funding, and deliver high-impact scientific outcomes.
The Group Leader will be responsible for defining the scientific vision and strategy of the group, overseeing all research activities, and ensuring scientific and technical excellence. The role includes preparing and leading grant applications, managing research projects, and supervising a team of postdoctoral researchers and students.
Requirements:
- PhD in Physics.
- Demonstrated Experience in the Management of Research, both at the level of Research Groups and of Research Institutions.
- Demonstrated international recognition from scientific societies or science academies.
- Cobine strong expertise in theoretical and/or computational methods with proven leadership and management skills. The ability to mentor researchers, foster a collaborative environment, and contribute to the institution's broader scientific objectives is essential.
Summary of conditions:
- Full time work (37.5h/week)
- Contract Length: Distinguished Researcher (2 years)
- Location: Bellaterra (Barcelona)
- Salary will be 83.500€ gross (plus complements according to internal salary policies)
- Support to the relocation issues.
