Job Overview:
As a Trainee Field Engineer at OmniAccess, you will gain your first hands-on exposure to the field engineering world. You will learn how we install, commission, and troubleshoot onboard IT networks, 4G/5G, Starlink satellite communications, and traditional VSAT systems. You will travel mostly across Europe, but also to other parts of the world.
Key Responsibilities:
Since the work at OmniAccess covers a wide scope of activities, installation jobs typically include:

Shadowing senior engineers during installations.
- Assisting with basic tool usage and equipment preparation.
- Supporting cable runs and patch work.
- Learning the documentation process and assisting with installation reports.
- Following safety procedures and onboarding instructions.
- Building foundational understanding of VSAT and WAN technologies.
- Carrying out simpler installations and routine interventions independently when site complexity allows, with remote support from senior engineers when needed.
- Beyond field assignments, you will also contribute to cross-functional activities supporting other departments such as PMO, Solutions Architect, Training, Logistics, Sales Engineering, Service Delivery and TSC, depending on workload and team needs.
Main Challenge:
Gaining initial field exposure and developing basic technical and soft skills, absorbing foundational knowledge while navigating field operations including understanding VSAT and WAN technologies, learning effective tool usage, and developing the ability to follow instructions and communicate clearly.
Requirements:
Education, Certifications and Experience

Willingness to learn, obtain technical certifications and participate in internal and external training courses.
- Ability for logical thinking and systematic troubleshooting.
- Good command of English (written & verbal).
- Good communication skills with a client-focused attitude.
- Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, IT, or Computer Science, or alternatively a high school diploma from a technical high school or equivalent relevant professional experience in the field.
The ideal candidate would have some experience in one or more of the following fields, but it is not strictly required:

Practical “hands on” knowledge of IT networking concepts & fundamentals (routing, switching, wireless networking).
- General RF knowledge (radio communication links, RF engineering, antennas, link-budgets, microwaves etc.).
- Experience with the major Microsoft OS’s and applications (Office 365).
- Affinity with vessels and the yacht world.
- EU residency or citizenship, eligible to work in Spain without visa sponsorship.
The following aspects would be a reason to consider a higher role:

Experience on Firewalls and SD-WAN.
- Experience with operating and/or installing satellite networks (or comparable technologies), 4G/5G systems, and operating stabilized satellite antenna systems (such as Sea Tel, Sailor, Intellian).
- Experience working as a Field Engineer or at a Network Operations Center.
- Holding any of the following certifications would be considered a plus:
- Cisco CCNA or comparable.
- Cisco specializations (wireless networking, security etc.).
- Fortinet certifications.
- Peplink certifications.
- iDirect/Newtec training certificates.
- Sea Tel training certificates.
- Sailor training certificates.
- Intellian training certificates.
- Microsoft training certificates.
