Our client is a leading independent renewable energy platform focused on the development, financing, construction and operation of utility-scale solar PV and BESS projects across Southern Europe. Backed by a major international infrastructure investor, the company is experiencing significant growth and continues to expand its portfolio across Spain, Portugal and Italy.
As part of this growth, we are looking for a Senior Associate / Manager to join the Structured Finance team in Madrid.
This position offers the opportunity to play a key role in the execution of financing transactions, investment analysis and portfolio management across a growing renewable energy platform.
Working closely with internal teams, lenders, financial advisors and investors, you will contribute throughout the full lifecycle of renewable energy projects, supporting financing, refinancing, acquisitions and strategic transactions.
Key Responsibilities
Support the execution of debt financing and refinancing processes from origination through financial close.
Develop, review and maintain complex financial models for project finance, acquisitions and portfolio valuation.
Perform financial analysis including IRR, NPV, MOIC and sensitivity scenarios covering CAPEX, OPEX, merchant exposure and PPAs.
Participate in due diligence processes alongside technical, legal and financial advisors.
Prepare investment papers, financial presentations and decision-making materials for senior management and investment committees.
Coordinate with internal stakeholders including Asset Management, Technical, Legal, Finance and Commercial teams.
Monitor financing agreements and ensure compliance with debt covenants and reporting obligations.
Support M&A transactions, asset disposals and strategic investment opportunities.
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering or another quantitative discipline.
Around 3–6 years of experience in Project Finance, Structured Finance, Corporate Finance, Financial Advisory or M&A within the infrastructure or renewable energy sector.
Strong financial modelling skills with advanced Excel.
Experience analysing renewable energy projects.
Good understanding of project finance structures, non-recourse debt and financing documentation.
Familiarity with PPAs, valuation methodologies and investment analysis.
Excellent analytical and communication skills.
Fluent English and Spanish.
