Kensington School is seeking an experienced and compassionate Head of Student Wellbeing, Inclusion & Guidance to lead our Orientación Department and play a key role in supporting the wellbeing, inclusion, safeguarding and future pathways of our students.
This is a senior pastoral and student-support leadership position, reporting to the Deputy Head: Safeguarding and Wellbeing.
- Lead and manage the Orientación Department and its staff.
- Develop and oversee the school’s wellbeing, inclusion and counselling provision.
- Advise SLT on student welfare, mental health, safeguarding and inclusion.
- Coordinate with external agencies, psychologists and specialist services.
- Oversee support for vulnerable students, including intervention and safeguarding processes.
- Lead the identification and support of students with additional learning needs and ensure appropriate provision.
- Support staff in developing inclusive approaches to teaching and learning.
- Lead university and careers guidance across Secondary, including Spanish, UK, European and international pathways.
- Oversee university applications, careers events, guidance programmes and related processes.
- Support student transitions, progress monitoring and whole-school wellbeing initiatives.
- Manage departmental resources, recruitment, performance and professional development.
- Qualified teacher, psychologist, counsellor or related professional.
- Experience leading student wellbeing, counselling, inclusion or support services in a school.
- Fluent written and spoken Spanish and English – essential.
- Good understanding of Spanish and international education systems.
- Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
- Experience working with safeguarding, student welfare and/or additional learning needs.
- Able to build strong relationships with students, families, staff and external professionals.
- Confident using school administration and information systems, including Microsoft Office, Google Workspace and iSAMS.
