We are looking for a highly motivated Senior HSE Engineer specialized in Fire Protection and Process Safety to join our engineering team in Spain.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the development of industrial and energy projects, providing technical leadership in fire protection engineering, process safety, risk assessment, environmental compliance, and permitting activities from conceptual design through detailed engineering and project execution.
This position offers the opportunity to work on complex multidisciplinary projects in close collaboration with Process, Mechanical, Piping, Electrical, Instrumentation, Construction, and Operations teams.
Key Responsibilities
Fire Protection Engineering
Develop Fire Protection Design Basis and Fire Protection Philosophies.- Define fire protection strategies for industrial facilities.
- Design and review:
Fire water systems.
Hydrant and monitor networks.
Deluge systems.
Sprinkler systems.
Water mist systems.
Foam systems.
Fire detection and alarm systems.
Passive fire protection systems.
- Perform fire water demand calculations and hydraulic analyses.
- Verify adequacy of existing fire protection systems and infrastructure.
- Develop Fire & Gas detection philosophies and Cause & Effect Matrices.
- Produce layouts for fire protection equipment and flammable/toxic gas detectors.
- Prepare technical specifications, material requisitions, equipment lists, and cost estimates.
Process Safety & Risk Assessment
HAZID Studies.
HAZOP Reviews.
SIL Assessments.
Quantitative and Qualitative Risk Assessments.
Explosion Risk Assessments.
Consequence and Dispersion Modeling.
Loss of Containment and Escape Source Analyses.
- Prepare Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) documentation.
- Define and evaluate risk mitigation measures.
Environmental, Safety & Regulatory Compliance
Prepare Environmental Impact Assessment documentation.- Develop Health and Safety Studies.
- Support industrial permitting, licensing and legalization processes.
- Prepare technical documentation required for construction permits and regulatory approvals.
- Interface with regulatory authorities, clients and third-party organizations.
Hazardous Area Classification
Perform Hazardous Area Classification studies in accordance with ATEX requirements.- Prepare hazardous area classification drawings and reports.
- Coordinate hazardous area requirements with electrical and instrumentation disciplines.
