The Data Migration System Lead is responsible for leading the design, governance, and execution of enterprise data migration solutions while acting as the technical authority for data-related system implementations and transformations.
This role combines deep expertise in data architecture, ERP data models, system integrations, data quality, and migration methodologies with strong project leadership capabilities. The position serves as the primary technical lead across all migration phases, ensuring that business requirements are translated into scalable and sustainable solutions that support organizational objectives.
The role works closely with Business Process Owners, Enterprise Architects, Master Data Teams, Analytics functions, and external implementation partners to ensure successful delivery of strategic initiatives.
System Lead Responsibilities:
Act as the technical lead for Data Migration and Data Management initiatives across global programs.
Define end-to-end migration strategies, architectures, frameworks, and technical standards.
Own the overall solution design for data migration processes supporting ERP implementations, acquisitions, divestitures, and system transformations.
Lead data discovery, data assessment, data object definition, and source-to-target mapping activities.
Drive data architecture decisions ensuring consistency across systems and platforms.
Ensure alignment between business processes, enterprise architecture standards, and migration solutions.
Review and approve technical designs, transformation rules, validation procedures, and reconciliation approaches.
Define migration waves, cutover strategies, rollback procedures, and go-live readiness criteria.
Establish best practices, methodologies, templates, and governance models for migration projects.
Provide technical leadership and mentoring to project teams, migration specialists, developers, and analysts.
Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture, Application Owners, Integration Teams, Data Governance, and Security organizations.
Support solution scalability, maintainability, performance, and compliance requirements.
