NextPort.AI is a Technology & Innovation company of Moffatt & Nichol, providing advanced technology solutions for Ports and Terminals.
This role will report to the CTO of NextPort and will be a focused leadership position within a growing software-enabled logistics organization operating as a subsidiary of a larger engineering company. The ideal candidate brings strong experience with of Ports and Terminal opeartions, and the development of new software solutions that have demonstrated significant performance improvement.
The role blends business understanding with operational ownership, guiding product management and implementation and adoption services teams, remaining directly accountable to customers. Over the next several years, the organization will deliver significant new software capabilities, including building out new digital products such as a digital twin and embedding customer usage and data into platform workflows and analytics. As such, the leader must be highly customer-focused, commercially astute, and able to make disciplined decisions about prioritizing software features that deliver the greatest customer value.
This individual will oversee and direct close collaboration with software development, architecture and data science teams and users. Strong management skills are essential, with proven experience leading and motivating teams through complex product development cycles, implementing new software capabilities, and maintaining high quality and attention to detail.
The role requires a results-driven leader with a strong understanding of international logistics and shipping, capable of managing complex, dynamic environments and collaborating effectively with terminals and shipping lines. The ideal candidate has experience in terminal operations, asset and operational optimization, with a history of leading high-impact transformations including integration of new systems and user adoption.
Overall, this is an ideal role for a business-oriented product leader who combines a high level of operational experience, customer engagement, and technology fluency to drive growth, deliver customer value and guide the organization through its next phase of digital evolution.

Duties and responsibilities:

Lead the Product Management and Implementation and Adoption Services organization, driving performance, accountability, and growth

Own customer engagement for new product roadmap and project success, serving as an executive level point of contact and directly managing key customer relationships and escalations

Develop new service offerings such as optimization services, and specifics such as developing strategy for data analytics and AI.

Work with technical leads on software development initiatives, ensuring product decisions prioritize highest customer value and market demand

Lead the delivery of new digital products and capabilities, including digital twin development and customer usage–driven software enhancements

Manage and align team, ensuring quality, reliability, and on-time delivery

Drive organizational change and product scalability, establishing processes, structure, and discipline to support the next phase of growth

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required in Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Information Systems; required

MBA or advanced graduate degree; preferred

20+ years of progressive leadership experience in terminal operations, logistics and shipping and developing software, or a closely related industry; required

10+ years in a senior management roles with operational performance accountability; required

Proven experience leading teams, including multi-discipline product and software development teams; required

Demonstrated success guiding organizations through change, growth, and digital transformation; required

Extensive experience integrating new software capabilities into business operations, including implementation and adoption; required

Direct experience with Terminal Operating Systems and integrating other systems, ideally within ports, terminals, shipping, or logistics environments; required

Track record managing teams delivering new digital products (e.g., software, operational platforms, analytics, data-driven solutions)

Strong operational discipline with a high attention to detail, quality, and execution excellence
