About Us
EA Group Holding is an alternative investment manager (Private Equity, Venture Capital and Hedge Funds) with a presence in Europe and Central Asia. We are building our headquarters in Madrid to support the domiciliation of European funds, investor relations (LPs) and the governance of our investees (including a neobank, a sports holding company, a construction group, a creative studio and a global trading operation).
We operate with the ambition and speed of a startup and the structural rigor of an institutional manager.
The opportunity
It is a leadership position in a growth phase. You will inherit an existing HR team (HR Generalist, L&D and an external recruiter) and several ongoing projects – an ongoing HRIS implementation, a 360° assessment cycle already completed and a values and culture programme under development. Your mission is to bring them to completion and scale the function as the holding grows.
The role sits at the intersection between managing institutional funds and building operating companies. Madrid is the regulatory base in the EU; our hub in Kazakhstan concentrates a large part of the talent, culture and deal flow. You will be the bridge between the two.
Main responsibilities
- People strategy and organisational design: define and implement the HR strategy aligned with the group's vision; lead the organisational design (workforce planning, salary bands, career plans); be a trusted advisor to the CEO and the management committee.
- Talent selection: leading the end-to-end recruitment for the Madrid holding company (30–40 hires in 3 years), including investment profiles, functional managers and internal legal advice; managing the relationship with executive search; building the employer brand in Spain and Central Asia.
- Coordination between offices: coordinate Madrid and Almaty (contracts, pay equity, cultural alignment); support the onboarding of senior profiles across geographies (relocation, work permits, local compliance).
- HR and compliance operations: complete the implementation of HRIS (selection and onboarding) and extend it to performance evaluation and benchmarking; ensure compliance with Spanish labour legislation (recruitment, Social Security, payroll); support the documentation of the AIFMD remuneration policy together with the Legal Department.
- Employee culture and experience: carry out the values and culture program in both offices; integrate the results of the 360 assessment into the performance cycle; design onboarding and events between offices.
It will be especially valued
- Experience building the HR function from scratch (greenfield, not just transformation).
- Prior exposure to entities regulated under AIFMD or alternative investment fund operations.
- Familiarity with the CIS/Central Asia business culture and talent market.
- Experience in bilingual or dual jurisdiction organizations.
- Hands-on experience in HRIS implementation (BambooHR, Personio, Workday or similar).
Personal profile
- Growth mindset: you are motivated to inherit work in the initial phase and carry it forward.
- Diplomatic assertiveness: able to disagree with senior interlocutors while maintaining trust.
- Business vision: You understand HR as a driver of business results, not as a support function.
- Cultural bridge: just as comfortable in a meeting with LP in Madrid as in a team dinner in Almaty.
- High autonomy: capable of operating without previous processes or manuals, creating them yourself.
