EHS Technician – Health & Safety and Radiological Protection

At Westinghouse Field Services, we are looking for an EHS Technician to support Health & Safety (H&S) and Radiological Protection (RP) activities across our sites and nuclear power plants.
The selected candidate will report to the Spain EHS Manager and will be based in Hospitalet de l’Infant, working in a highly technical, regulated, and safety-driven environment within the nuclear sector.
Main Responsibilities
- Support the Health & Safety Management System and activities related to Radiological Protection.
- Assist in safety inspections and risk assessments.
- Support the development and implementation of policies and practices aimed at identifying and mitigating hazardous workplace conditions.
- Participate in compliance assurance activities, environmental management system audits, and routine inspections to monitor compliance in real time.
- Assist in the investigation of accidents and environmental incidents, working with engineers, management, and regulatory authorities to identify root causes and prevent recurrence.
- Support the planning and execution of training activities related to health, safety, and radiological protection.
- Prepare documentation required for workers’ access to customer facilities, including:
- Health & Safety Plans
- Individual staff accreditations
- Training records
- Personal Protective Equipment documentation
- Support coordination in multi-employer worksites.
- Monitor and supervise Radiological Protection matters, including dose management for exposed workers.
- Provide administrative support related to other EHS areas.
- Participate in in-field Health & Safety and Radiological Protection supervision during nuclear plant outages and inspection campaigns.
- Assist in the preparation of:
- Health & Safety Plans
- Hazard assessments
- Preventive and protective measures
- ALARA Plans
- Support field supervision activities, including:
- Accident investigation
- Dose monitoring
- Hygienic assessments
- Safety inspections of equipment, tools, and auxiliary means
- Planning and supervision of special hazardous activities
Requirements
- Technical or academic background related to Health & Safety, Occupational Risk Prevention, Environmental Health, Sciences, or similar disciplines.
- An engineering degree is not required, provided the candidate has relevant qualifications and experience related to Occupational Risk Prevention / Health & Safety.
- Native or fluent Spanish.
- English level B2.
- Fit to work as an ionizing radiation–exposed worker.
- Ability to work with a medium level of autonomy and supervision.
- Strong orientation toward internal and external customers.
Nice to Have
- Master’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety.
- Experience supervising field activities during nuclear outages or inspection campaigns.
- Experience preparing Health & Safety Plans and ALARA Plans.
- Knowledge of multi-employer site coordination.
- Experience working with technical documentation and regulatory requirements in nuclear environments.
- Organized, proactive, and solution-oriented profile with strong communication skills.
