The Opportunity
We are looking for a Hydraulic Modeller to join our Water team in Spain, supporting the delivery of water network modelling and network analysis projects for a range of clients, including major utilities.
You will contribute to the development, analysis, and optimisation of water distribution models, supporting the planning and design of resilient and sustainable water systems. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your technical expertise in hydraulic modelling while collaborating with experienced teams across Arup’s global network.
As a Hydraulic Modeller at Arup, you will:
- Develop and update hydraulic models for water supply networks
- Support the analysis and optimisation of water distribution systems
- Assist in model build, calibration, and validation processes
- Contribute to the preparation of technical reports and modelling outputs
- Support the design of water infrastructure projects in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Work with project data, including network layouts, demand data, and GIS information
- Collaborate with Arup teams across Spain and internationally on water projects
Does this role inspire you?
We are looking for a motivated engineer with an interest in hydraulic modelling and water networks. Ideally, you will bring:
Degree in Civil Engineering, Water Engineering, or a related field- At least 3 years of experience in hydraulic modelling of water supply and other pressurised networks, ideally using InfoWorks WS Pro
- Understanding of water supply networks and hydraulic principles
- Familiarity with GIS tools (e.g. ArcGIS) and/or BIM environments
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Fluent Spanish and English, both written and spoken
Bonus points if you have:
- Experience in the design and modelling of drainage networks with InfoWorks ICM, InfoDrainage or PC SWMM.
- Basic knowledge of electrical and mechanical installations
