We are looking for an R&D Funding Specialist to support Outrigo’s innovation projects. This is a hands-on technical role combining engineering knowledge with the ability to identify and manage public funding opportunities linked to R&D projects.
The ideal candidate has a solid engineering background and a genuine interest in innovation processes. You will support the preparation of R&D project proposals, manage relationships with funding bodies and contribute technically to ongoing development programmes across Aerospace, Defence, Automotive and Robotics.
Responsibilities / What you will do
- Identify and monitor public funding opportunities relevant to Outrigo’s R&D activities, regional programmes and defence-specific calls.
- Support the preparation and submission of funding applications, including technical memory, work packages, budgets and justification documents.
- Track and manage active funded projects: reporting, milestones, deliverables and compliance with funding body requirements.
- Contribute technically to R&D projects, supporting engineering teams in documentation, technical reports and state-of-the-art reviews.
- Liaise with technology centres, universities and consortium partners involved in collaborative R&D projects.
- Support the preparation of technical documentation required for IP protection, technology transfer and certification processes.
- Monitor technology trends and competitor landscape to identify new areas of R&D interest aligned with Outrigo’s roadmap.
- Represent Outrigo at relevant industry events, innovation forums and networking activities linked to funded programmes.
Experience / Who you are
- Degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Industrial, Mechanical, Electronics or related field).
- 2–4 years of experience in engineering roles, ideally with some exposure to R&D projects or innovation environments.
- Knowledge or interest in public R&D funding mechanisms (CDTI, Horizon Europe, PERTE or similar).
- Experience in working with funding for the Aerospace and Defence sector is a plus.
- Basic familiarity with engineering tools and processes: CAD, simulation, manufacturing or testing environments.
- Organised and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage documentation, deadlines and multiple workstreams simultaneously.
- Good written communication skills in both Spanish and English; able to produce clear technical documents and reports.
- Proactive, curious and comfortable working in a fast-paced, technically demanding environment.
