Project Manager

The ideal candidate will have a professional and proactive approach. He/she will need to have effective communication and experience in negotiation, both internally and externally with clients. This role would be suitable for a candidate with an organized and methodical character, happy to work independently but nevertheless part of a project team.
Reporting directly to the Country Head, the project manager takes full responsibility for the project entrusted to him.

The offer entails:
- Location : Madrid, Spain
- Hours: 40 hour work week, Monday to Friday
- In return: Based on experience.
- Compensation package: base salary, annual bonus, project bonus, travel allowance, health insurance, pension.
Mail responsibilities (not limited to):
- Intervene upstream in the pre-construction phase, analyse responses to for tenders and make recommendations, may propose methodological variants in consultation with our cost estimator,
- Investigate design variants or choice of material with the design office to meet customer expectations and optimize the profitability of project,
- Actively selects subcontractors, manages negotiations and plannings,
- Guarantee the quality, prices, and deadlines of completion as well as the receptions and lifting reserves,
- Ensure smooth running of projects in terms of financial and contractual management,
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers in the delivery of the project,
- Execute and finalize projects according to strict deadlines and within a defined budget,
- Control the drawings, the project program; contribute, if necessary,
- Follow-up on sites daily to fully understand the progress and anticipate difficulties,
- Apply all company policies specifically regarding health, safety and the environment,
- Guarantee management of operations and negotiations on the technical, administrative, and financial levels,
- Ensure coordination with building control and other key stakeholders,
- Organize and lead site meetings with project managers, project owners and other stakeholders,
- Manage prepare and follow-up of business, the organization, the management of meetings and maintains a trusted relationship with the various stakeholders (project owners, control offices, specialists, architects, subcontractors ...),
- Mobilize the necessary technical specialists, organize the instructions, ensure the direction of the execution of the works contract,
- Represent the company on the site, participate in progress meetings and as main point of contact of all stakeholders: project owner or his representative, project manager, control office, subcontractors (...),
- Actively review opportunities to comply with and enhance Agilité’s status as a B-Corp organization.
Health and Safety Responsibilities :
- Apply HQSE regulations,
- Comply with our Health and Safety Policy and ISO accreditations, you must manage and ensure that subcontractors also comply with them,
- Incorporate health and safety issues when responding to tenders,
Process Management and reporting :
- Ensure that all the information is transmitted to your teams,
- Aalyse and support the production process,
- Participate in the preparation of budget proposals and studies,
- Update proposals,
- Ensure follow-up on KPI,
What we’re looking for from our project manager :
- You have at least 8-10 years of proven experience in a demanding business environment, or you have consistently exceeded targets,
- You have experience in the construction sector, preferably with a recognized general contractor.
Ideally, here’s what you will also :
- Be Operational, focused and responsive.
- Able to respond to changing internal and external needs,
- Able to identify staff strengths and weaknesses, develop staff in line with training plans and carry out assessments on a regular basis,
- Have good understanding of the construction sector, the market, and practices with, if possible, experience in the development and renovation sectors in office, hotel and retail,
- Able to maintain strong relationships with potential customers,
- Able to understand and are aligned with the company's vision and values,
- Have excellent communication skills. You have a high business awareness and be able to represent the company at the highest internal and external level,
- Be robust and resilient, possessing motivation, determination, and natural enthusiasm,
- Have good knowledge of local markets, Hold a Master's degree in a construction related field
- Be fluent in English and Spanish, both written and spoken, any other European Language will be a bonus.
- Have professional accreditation with a recognized Project Management organization would also be viewed favourably.
