Job Description
Orion Bilgitek Madrid is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Telecommunications Technician (Técnico de Telecomunicaciones) to join our technical team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting telecommunications systems and network infrastructure to ensure reliable connectivity and high-performance communication services. You will collaborate with engineering and IT teams to support both internal operations and client projects.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain telecommunications systems, including network hardware and communication equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of telecom and network infrastructure.
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to connectivity, data transmission, and voice services.
- Assist in the deployment and integration of new telecommunications solutions.
- Monitor system performance and ensure compliance with technical standards and regulations.
- Carry out structured cabling (fiber optic and copper) installation and testing.
- Document technical procedures, configurations, and maintenance activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure upgrades and expansion projects.
- Provide technical support and guidance to users and field technicians when required.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Telecommunications Technician, Network Technician, or similar technical role.
- Strong knowledge of telecommunications systems, networking principles, and infrastructure components.
- Familiarity with fiber optic and structured cabling installation and testing tools.
- Understanding of TCP/IP, VoIP, routers, switches, and wireless communication systems.
- Ability to read technical diagrams and schematics.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Technical certification or diploma in Telecommunications, Electronics, or a related field is preferred.
