Réalta Technologies is looking for an experienced AVEVA PI Developer to support a leading animal health manufacturing facility based in Salamanca.
This role will focus on the development, configuration, and optimisation of the site’s AVEVA PI environment within a GMP-regulated manufacturing setting. The successful candidate will support PI integrations, data structures, visualisations, interfaces, and reporting solutions across manufacturing and process systems.
The position would suit an engineer with strong hands-on PI development experience and exposure to MES, automation, and manufacturing systems within pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, or animal health environments.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop, configure, and maintain AVEVA PI System solutions across manufacturing and process environments.
- Build and maintain PI AF structures, event frames, calculations, analytics, and data models aligned to manufacturing operations.
- Configure and support PI Vision dashboards, visualisations, trends, and reporting solutions for operational users and stakeholders.
- Develop and support PI Interfaces and Integrators for connectivity across manufacturing systems, PLCs, SCADA, MES, and process equipment.
- Support integrations between PI and surrounding platforms including PAS-X, Octoplant, and other operational technology systems.
- Collaborate with Automation, Manufacturing, MES, Quality, and Digitalisation teams to define and implement data requirements.
- Troubleshoot PI-related issues including data flow, interface performance, historian configuration, and visualisation problems.
- Support commissioning, deployment, upgrades, and lifecycle management activities for PI applications and integrations.
- Ensure all development activities align with GMP, data integrity, and site quality standards.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation including configuration records, SOPs, functional specifications, and change controls.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on manufacturing data visibility, analytics, and operational efficiency.
Job Requirements
- 5+ years’ experience developing and supporting AVEVA PI Systems within regulated pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, or animal health environments.
- Strong hands-on experience with PI AF, PI Vision, PI Interfaces, Integrators, event frames, analytics, and historian configuration.
- Experience developing PI data structures, visualisations, reporting solutions, and manufacturing dashboards.
- Experience integrating PI with manufacturing and process systems including PLCs, SCADA, MES, DCS, or utility systems.
- Exposure to MES platforms such as PAS-X and wider operational technology platforms including Octoplant would be beneficial.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across PI applications and manufacturing data systems.
- Understanding of GMP, validation, change control, and data integrity requirements within regulated manufacturing.
- Experience supporting commissioning, upgrades, or deployment activities within production environments.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with Automation, Manufacturing, Quality, IT, and Digitalisation teams.
- Fluent Spanish is essential, with strong English communication skills also required.
