Position Overview
Schwartz Turbotech Software is seeking an experienced Senior Embedded Systems Engineer to join our engineering team in Málaga. The ideal candidate will lead the design, development, testing, and optimization of embedded software and hardware solutions for mission-critical systems.
This role requires strong technical expertise in embedded development, real-time operating systems, microcontroller architectures, and system integration. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams and contribute to all stages of the product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain embedded software for real-time systems.
- Architect and implement firmware for microcontrollers and embedded processors.
- Develop and optimize low-level drivers, communication protocols, and system interfaces.
- Perform system integration, debugging, and performance analysis.
- Collaborate with hardware, software, and product teams to define system requirements.
- Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to quality and coding standards.
- Support testing, validation, and deployment activities.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership on complex projects.
- Create and maintain technical documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 7+ years of professional experience in embedded systems development.
- Strong proficiency in C and C++.
- Experience with RTOS environments and embedded Linux platforms.
- Knowledge of microcontroller architectures (ARM, STM32, NXP, or similar).
- Experience with communication protocols such as CAN, SPI, I2C, UART, Ethernet, or MQTT.
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills using industry-standard tools.
- Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with aerospace, automotive, industrial automation, or IoT systems.
- Knowledge of functional safety standards and secure embedded development.
- Experience with FPGA integration or hardware bring-up activities.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.
