In this role, you will own and improve self-created tools built in Python that support Last Mile forecasting and planning processes. You will be the owner of quarterly DPPH guidance plans (Q2G, Q3G, Q4G) and responsible for producing weekly and monthly reports for senior leadership. As you take on different projects, you'll become an expert in our processes and see your experience evolve. Along the way, you'll work closely with different functions across Amazon and see how working together makes us a leader in what we do.
Key job responsibilities
Collect and analyse data to identify process improvement opportunities and provide business insights to leadership
Develop, modify, and maintain internal tools (Python) to automate and optimize Last Mile planning and forecasting processes
Create and document SOPs and mechanisms to optimize AMXL Last Mile On-the-Road performance
Own the creation and delivery of quarterly DPPH guidance plans (Q2G, Q3G, Q4G) for EU markets
Set measurable goals and track continuous improvement for ongoing programmes
Run meetings with partner teams to implement new initiatives and improve existing processes
Document standards for processes and ensure compliance across EU markets
Full ownership of processes to improve AMXL Last Mile cost structure
Produce weekly and monthly reports for senior leadership on key operational metrics
A day in the life
Every day is different as a Process Improver. You'll work both independently and collaboratively on processes at different stages, from identifying inefficiencies to implementing and validating solutions. You might spend your morning analysing routing data and refining a Python tool that automates a forecasting workflow, then spend your afternoon reviewing quarterly plan outputs with partner teams or documenting a new SOP. You will collaborate with other teams, track process performance, and share updates with key stakeholders.
About the team
Amazon Extra Large (AMXL) delivers heavy items like furniture and large appliances across Europe. Within AMXL, the Last Mile Execution (LME) team owns routing efficiency and cost optimization for 50+ Delivery Stations in 6 EU markets. We build forecasting models, develop internal Python tools, and create the processes that drive Packages Per Route performance — directly impacting millions in annual delivery costs. With a focus on data, automation, and continuous improvement, we make Last Mile delivery more efficient every day.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, Transportation, Mathematics, Economics, Physics or another technical field
- Experience working with the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and/or SQL in a professional environment
- Experience with programming languages like Python, JavaScript, Go, .Net, Java or equivalent
- Experience programming in Python (data analysis, automation, or tool development)
